First SPTA General Assembly

The First General Assembly of the School Parent-Teacher Association (SPTA) of Nalvo Elementary School was successfully conducted on July 2, 2026 @ 3:00 PM at the Nalvo ES Covered Court. The activity was attended by parents, teachers, newly elected SPTA officers, and school personnel. The assembly aimed to strengthen the partnership between the school and parents in promoting quality education and learner development.

The meeting formally started with an opening prayer led by Mrs. Rowena D. Yburan followed by the Welcome Address by Mrs. Frelyn C. Jaravata, NES Teachers Association President where the participants were warmly welcomed and encouraged to actively support the school's programs and activities. A Roll Call was then conducted by Ms. Lorna C. Rante to determine the attendance of parents and stakeholders from each grade level.

One of the highlights of the assembly was the Presentation of the Newly Elected SPTA Officers. The officers were formally introduced to the parents and teachers, and they accepted the responsibility of serving the school community with commitment, transparency, and dedication.

During the School Head's Time, Ms Arlyn L. Obongen discussed the school's ongoing and upcoming projects, emphasizing the importance of collaboration among teachers, parents, and the SPTA in improving school facilities and providing a better learning environment for the learners. She also encouraged everyone to continue supporting school programs and activities throughout the school year.

The SPTA Treasurer, Mrs. Medina Dominguez then presented the Financial Matters, providing updates on the association's financial status and explaining the proposed collection and utilization of SPTA funds. Transparency and accountability in handling school funds were highlighted to ensure the trust and confidence of all stakeholders.

This was followed by the Accomplishment Reports from each Grade Adviser. Each adviser presented the achievements, completed activities, and academic updates of their respective classes. They also shared future plans and encouraged parents to remain actively involved in their children's education.

During the President's Time, Mrs. Belinda Domingo, the newly elected SPTA President expressed gratitude to the parents for their trust and support. The president encouraged unity, cooperation, and active participation in all school programs and assured everyone of the officers' commitment to serving the best interests of the learners and the school.

The School Rules and Policies were likewise discussed by Ms. Florabel Joaquina D. Guillermo to remind parents of the school's expectations regarding attendance, learner discipline, safety, cleanliness, proper communication, and active parental involvement. Parents were encouraged to work closely with teachers in ensuring the holistic development and well-being of every learner.

The assembly concluded with the adjournment, expressing appreciation to all parents, teachers, and stakeholders for their active participation and unwavering support. The successful conduct of the First SPTA General Assembly strengthened the partnership between the school and the community, fostering a shared commitment to providing quality education and a nurturing learning environment for all learners of Nalvo Elementary School.

On June 30, 2026, a Collaborative Expertise on the Preparation of Term Examinations was successfully conducted to strengthen teachers' competence in developing quality assessment tools.

The session was facilitated by Miss Florabel Joaquina Guillermo, Master Teacher I and Miss Arlyn Obongen, Head Teacher III, who provided guidance and technical assistance throughout the activity.

The facilitators discussed the proper preparation of assessment materials, including written works, oral assessments, summative tests, and term examinations.

Emphasis was given to ensuring that all assessment tools are aligned with the Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELCs), learning objectives, and the prescribed assessment guidelines. Participants were also reminded to observe fairness, validity, reliability, and clarity in constructing test items to accurately measure learners' knowledge, skills, and understanding.

During the collaborative session, teachers actively participated by sharing ideas, reviewing test questions, and providing constructive feedback to one another. The activity promoted teamwork, professional collaboration, and the exchange of best practices in assessment development. Through the guidance of the facilitators, participants enhanced their skills in preparing well-structured and learner-centered assessment tools.

The activity concluded with a renewed commitment among teachers to produce high-quality assessments that support effective teaching and meaningful learning outcomes. This served as an opportunity to strengthen professional competence and uphold the school's commitment to quality education.
