"PARENTS ARE THE REAL THERAPISTS"
He has sensory issues, he does not like to brush his teeth and so his mother needs to wrap him with a towel just to do so. During the first session, he reacted upon seeing the toothpaste. It is an indication that toothpaste has an aversive effect on him. After 5 sessions of behavioral therapy, he brushes his teeth without any resistance. The target behavior was successfully attained through the collaboration of the mother using the strategy taught by the therapist to continuously do what is being done in the therapy room at home. I am encouraging the guardians to spare time for their kids to be their real therapists at home.
