To all Grade 12 Icons, Congratulations! This graduation is a milestone obtained through each and everyone's hardwork, discipline, and perseverance. Sabay na dumagundong ang magkaduong sina Carlos Yulo at Eldrew Yulo sa larangan ng gymnastics matapos magpamalas ng malilinis na routine sa vault, floor exercise, at horizontal bar finals upang mamayagpag sa Artistic Gymnastics World Cup Series.

Nagtala ng impresibong 14.833 puntos sa floor exercise at 14.700 sa vault ang Olympic gold medalist at world champion na si Carlos, dahilan upang umabante siya sa Top 12 Finals sa naganap na torneo sa Antibes, France noong Abril 3–6.

Bumandera ang 26-anyos na atleta upang idirekta ang kanyang French squad na OAJLP Gymnastique sa panalo kontra SMB Gymnastique, 44–29, para malapit sa korona ang grupo.

Umalagwa naman ang nakababatang si Eldrew matapos magningning sa floor exercise ng FIG Series, kung saan naka-ukit ito ng 14.000 puntos upang mapasakamay ang tansong medalya sa Cairo, Egypt nitong Linggo.

Humirit pa ng isa pang tanso ang 18-anyos na Junior Wolds rising star matapos makapagtala ng 13.733 puntos sa horizontal bar final, pumapangatlo sa likod ng 14.400 ni Li Hongyan ng China at 13.900 ni Marios Georgiou ng Cyprus.

Makakaharap naman ng katropa ni Carlos ang bagsik ng top squad na ASVG Vallarius, defending champion, sa Mayo 15, habang wagi namang tinapos ni Eldrew ang kanyang karera sa serye, tangay ang dalawang tanso.

Isipin ang katahimikan na may dalang bigat at alinlangan. Sa gitna ng dami ng tao sa bayan, may mga isip na pagod na pagod na sa laban.

Ayon sa ulat ng ABS-CBN News mula sa datos ng National Center for Mental Health, 700 lamang ang psychiatrist sa buong Pilipinas, katumbas ng isang espesyalista sa bawat 200,000 Pilipino. Sa unang basa, tila numero lang na walang laman, ngunit sa mas malalim na pag-unawa, ito’y datos ng sistemang kulang sa dami at kulang sa saklaw.

Kasunod nito, higit sa 110 milyon ang populasyon at 700 lang ang nakaatang sa tungkulin, malinaw ang pagitan ng pangangailangan at kakayahan ng serbisyong dapat sana’y abot-kamay at maaasahan. Ang agwat na ito ay hindi lang bilang sa papel, kundi distansya sa aktwal na tulong na dapat ay natatanggap ng mga tao sa oras ng pangangailangan.

Batay sa impormasyon ng World Health Organization (WHO), tinatayang isa sa bawat pitong tao sa mundo ang nakararanas ng "mental health condition." Kung ilalapat ito sa Pilipinas, milyon-milyong Pilipino ang maaaring nangangailangan ng gabay at alalay, ngunit iilan lamang ang may kakayahang magbigay ng propesyonal na gabay na siyang tunay at mahusay.

Bukod dito, sa mga tahanan at paaralan, may mga kabataan na tahimik ngunit may dinadalang ligalig at pangamba. Sa mga pabrika at opisina, may mga manggagawang pumapasok bitbit ang lungkot at pagod na hindi batid sa kilos ngunit dama sa isip at dibdib. Hindi lang pisikal na lakas ang nauubos, pati sigla na unti-unting nauupos.

Gayunpaman, mas ramdam ang suliranin sa mga lalawigan na malayo sa klinika at ospital na may ganitong serbisyo at kakayahan. Sa mga paaralan at opisina, may mga taong tahimik na lumalaban ngunit walang propesyonal na nalalapitan. Dahil dito, ang mental health ay nagiging personal na pasanin imbes na panlipunang responsibilidad na may malinaw na direksyon at solusyon.

Kaugnay nito, sinusuportahan ng Sustainable Development Goals 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) na ang pagpapalakas ng serbisyong pangkalusugan, kabilang ang mental health na dapat unahin at pagtuunan. Samantala, binibigyang-diin ng Sustainable Development Goals 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) na ang taong may maayos na isipan ay mas produktibo sa gawain at mas malinaw sa desisyon. Ibig sabihin, ang pag-aalaga sa isip ay hindi lamang tulong sa tao, kundi ambag din sa pag-unlad ng bansa.

Dahil dito, mahalagang palawakin ang kaalaman sa mental health sa paaralan at komunidad upang mas maagang matukoy ang pangangailangan. Dagdagan ang pagsasanay ng mga guidance counselor at health workers upang mas marami ang makapagbigay ng paunang tulong at gabay. Higit sa lahat, hikayatin ang kabataan na maging bukas sa usaping pangkaisipan upang mawala ang hiya, takot, at pag-aalinlangan.

Bilang konklusyon, inilarawan sa simula ang pagod na isip at pusong walang masandalan sa gitna ng maraming tao sa lansangan. Samakatuwid, malinaw na ang kakulangan ng psychiatrist ay paalala na marami pang kailangang gawin upang sa bawat isip na gumagaan, may buhay na muling lumalaban.

How crazy do you think it is when we casually lie on our bed and scroll through our phones, knowing that there are four people in the space right now watching us from above?

On April 1, 2026, at 6:35 p.m. EDT, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) launched the first crewed mission to the Moon in over 50 years‚ called Artemis II‚ from Kennedy Space Center, Florida, USA.

The Artemis II test flight will be NASA's first mission with crew aboard from the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and Orion spacecraft, carrying four astronauts— Mission Specialist Christina Koch, Mission Specialist Jeremy Hansen, Pilot Victor Glover, and Commander Reid Wiseman.

For some people, this may look like not that big of a deal, but it actually is. It has been over 50 years since we had a Moon mission, which occurred in 1972, the famous Apollo 17 mission. Since then, our astronauts could only fly around the low-Earth orbit and the International Space Station (ISS). But today, we will make history as Artemis II will be attempting to fly the furthest humans have ever gone in space by a “lunar flyby”.

To introduce, the lunar flyby is a 10-day trip around the moon, following a figure 8 path, and back to the Earth. However, they will not land on the moon yet. According to NASA, their primary goal is deep-space navigation to verify that the Orion spacecraft can safely support astronauts during deep-space missions, including life-support systems. Aside from that, the crew will perform manual maneuvering tests of the spacecraft, test the communication, navigation, and tracking via the Deep Space Network, ensuring that astronauts can maintain contact outside of Earth’s orbit, and observe the lunar far side.

Most importantly, the success of this mission is critical for the subsequent Artemis III and Artemis IV in 2027 or 2028, which aim to land astronauts on the lunar surface, and for establishing a sustainable, long-term presence on the Moon. Moreover, this will also be the key for future Mars exploration that the space community has been eyeing for the past few years.

As per NASA's latest update, Artemis astronauts are already halfway to the moon. They also released new high-resolution images of our home planet through the Orion capsule window, a one-of-a-kind family picture that no one could capture as they did.

We may not land on the moon yet, but this exploration will make history for years, marking another journey for our people, for our family, and for all humanity. Let’s just hope for the Artemis astronauts to come back home safely together with the hope that one day, we could finally achieve the last mission towards a new beginning.
