𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗬 | The Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC) informs the community that Friday, August 21, 2026, is observed as Ninoy Aquino Day, a Special Non-Working Holiday pursuant to Republic Act No. 9256.

Accordingly, there will be no classes and no office work on the said date.

Let us take this day to honor the legacy, courage, and sacrifice of the late Ninoy Aquino and his contribution to Philippine democracy.

𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗬 | The Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College announces that the implementation of Work-from-Home (WFH) arrangements and asynchronous classes shall remain in effect on August 20, 2026, pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 131, s. 2026, issued by Malacañang upon the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), due to continuous heavy rainfall associated with the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).

To ensure the continuity of essential services, a skeletal workforce shall be maintained in each unit or office. Concerned personnel are advised to report onsite as designated by their respective heads, while other employees shall continue their functions under the WFH arrangement.

The College has issued a corresponding Memorandum providing the specific guidelines and arrangements for the implementation of WFH, asynchronous classes, and the skeletal workforce.

𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗧'𝗦 𝗖𝗢𝗥𝗡𝗘𝗥 | President Obrero receives visionary leadership recognition

ISPSC President Dr. Mario P. Obrero was conferred the Plaque of Commendation for Visionary Leadership in Higher Education during the 2026 UNIFIED International Educators’ Summit held on August 16, 2026, in Cagayan de Oro City.

The recognition honors Dr. Obrero’s commitment to visionary and transformative leadership in higher education and his continuing efforts to champion progressive and inclusive approaches to institutional governance and academic development. This reflects a continuing pursuit of quality education and responsive programs that address the needs of all stakeholders served by the College.

More than an individual accolade, the recognition also brings honor to the entire ISPSC community, whose collective efforts contribute to the College’s continuing pursuit of academic excellence, institutional growth, and meaningful public service.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | ISPSC Sta. Maria, Tagudin programs achieve Level III, IV re-accreditation

The Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College continues to strengthen its commitment to academic excellence as two of its campuses’ programs earned AACCUP level IV and III re-accreditation statuses.

In Sta. Maria Campus, the Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd), Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) with majors in English, Mathematics, and Science, and Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLEd) with majors in Home Economics and Agri-Fishery earned Level IV re-accredited status. The accreditation is valid from June 1, 2026 to May 31, 2031.

The Bachelor of Science in Forestry (BS Forestry) and Master of Arts in Education (MAEd) majors in English, General Education, General Science and Mathematics, and Technology and Livelihood Education, have also earned Level III re-accredited status, valid from June 1, 2026 to May 31, 2030.

Meanwhile, the Tagudin Campus’ Master of Arts in Education (MAEd) majors in English, General Education, General Science and Mathematics, earned Level III re-accredited status, with accreditation valid from June 1, 2026 to May 31, 2030.

ISPSC’s continuing pursuit of academic excellence and its commitment to providing quality, and responsive higher education programs, establishes its standards as it moves onwards to University of Ilocos Philippines.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | Outstanding ISPSC achievers earn recognition at SIGLAT awards 2026

The Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College community, led by ISPSC President Mario P. Obrero, continues to make its mark in education and public service as its faculty members, personnel, and students were recognized during the SIGLAT Awards 2026, a provincial recognition program that honors individuals who have demonstrated excellence and meaningful contributions to education and to the development of Ilocos Sur, on August 13.

Among the ISPSC employee-awardees were Mr. Christian Molina of the Narvacan Campus; Dr. Joel Ferrer and Dr. Joanna Marie Guarin of Sta. Maria Campus; Dr. Geremy Sanchez from Cervantes Campus; Dr. Geraldine Reyes from Tagudin Campus; Dr. Christian Gandeza, Dr. Tricia L. Gundran, Ms. Dimple G. Famajilan, Dr. Mandy Roie Atendido, Dr. Ana Blesilda Atendido, Dr. Cecilia R. Vergara, Dr. Sherwin S. Paguiligan, Mr. Modesto Noble and Mrs. Maria Cristina C. Remiendo of Main Campus, who were recognized for their excellent accomplishments and contributions.

ISPSC students were likewise among the recipients, highlighting the College’s commitment to developing learners who excel not only in academics but also in leadership, service, innovation, and other areas of achievement.

The awards were presented by Ilocos Sur Governor Jeremias C. Singson and members of the Provincial Board, alongside representatives from the Provincial Education and Scholarship Affairs Office (PESAO) and other SIGLAT ISKWELA partners.

As ISPSC advances toward its vision of becoming the University of Ilocos Philippines, the success of its people remains central to its continuing pursuit of excellence.
