SCOUTS ON ‘SAFER’ DUTY
To add grandeur to the much-anticipated opening parade of the 2026 Ilocos Sur Division Schools Press Conference, 16 selected senior scouts joined and served as marshals.
Enduring the heat of the sun at 1:30 in the afternoon, they wore the traditional head gear, salakot. Should it rain or become hotter, they will be protected. As minors, they were accompanied by two adult leaders following the 1:8 ratio in crew system. They are also assured of their water to stay hydrated.
The True SMCian scouts and scout leaders advocate for safer scouting. All scouts should be free and safe from harm.
Special thanks to SBM Dasalla Guillermo for the treat and to Santa Maria MPS OIC-COP PLt. Jenson Refuerzo for the photo op! 🫡⚜️💎💙
