𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐮𝐦 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

Santa Maria, Ilocos Sur — The Office of the Student Housing and Residential Services (OSHRS) officially welcomed student residents for the first semester of Academic Year 2026–2027 during its General Orientation cm Assembly last July 23, 2026, held at the Ladies Dormitory.

Led by Dormitory Manager I, Mr. Alvin Jay F. Tobias, the event served as an essential briefing on housing policies, community standards, and upcoming residential programs designed to ensure a safe, conducive, and supportive living environment for all boarders.

Key Highlights of the Orientation

Policy Enforcement & Safety Protocols: Mr. Tobias emphasized the core dormitory rules, including curfews, visitor policies, maintenance protocols, and emergency procedures to maintain security across facilities.

Student Welfare & Community Support: The orientation highlighted available support systems, encouraging open communication between student residents, dormitory officers, and staff.

Residential Life Engagement: Staff presented planned semester activities aimed at fostering camaraderie, leadership, and community spirit among residents.

The assembly concluded with an open forum, allowing residents to raise concerns, seek clarifications, and offer suggestions for facility improvements. With the new academic year underway, the OSHRS reaffirmed its commitment to providing a secure and enriching home away from home for every student.

Holding dual responsibilities, Mr. Tobias champions both administrative excellence and the vital community-building required to run a premier student residential facility. For him, managing a campus dormitory goes far beyond daily logistics; it is about establishing a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.

From implementing strict safety protocols and standardizing operational guidelines to collaborating closely with student bodies like the Students' Dormitory Organization (SDO), he ensures that our dormitories serve as a genuine "home away from home" where student leaders and residents can excel both academically and personally.

With a steadfast commitment to student welfare and professionalized management, the Office of the Student Housing and Residential Services continues to elevate the holistic living-learning experience on campus.
