ANOTHER MILESTONE FOR OUR E.D.G.E. FAMILY! ๐๐
We are incredibly proud to celebrate Teacher Mae, our very own Speech and Language Interventionist, for successfully passing the assessment for Oral Sensorimotor Integration Therapy (OSIT) with an impressive 88% score! ๐๐ปโจ
Teacher Mae recently traveled all the way from Bulacan to Mandaue, Cebu to attend a 2-Day Intensive Training in Oral Sensorimotor Integration Therapy (OSIT) conducted by SpeechGears India.
The intensive training was conducted under the guidance of:
โจ Ms. Neha Yadav, MSc SLP, PhD Scholar โ a Speech-Language Pathologist with advanced academic training in the field and currently pursuing doctoral research.
โจ Dr. Shriharsh Jahagirdar, MOT, Neurosciences โ an occupational therapist with advanced training in neurosciences, bringing a perspective that connects sensory processing, motor function, and the nervous system.
OSIT is an evidence-informed, structured approach that explores the relationship between sensory processing, oral-motor responses, and functional skills involving the mouth, lips, tongue, and jaw. It provides professionals with a deeper understanding of how oral sensorimotor factors may relate to areas such as speech, feeding, swallowing, oral awareness, and motor coordination.
At E.D.G.E., we believe that professional growth does not stop when we begin working. Learning continues because the needs of every child are different. ๐
We are especially proud of Teacher Mae for taking the initiative to travel, learn, challenge herself, and expand her knowledge so she can continue developing her practice and better understand the children and families she serves.
And while that 88% assessment score is certainly something worth celebrating, what makes this milestone even more meaningful is the commitment behind it โ the willingness to keep asking questions, seek new perspectives, and continuously learn.
We are grateful to SpeechGears India for providing this structured learning opportunity, and to the trainers who shared their knowledge and expertise throughout the intensive training.
