𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐨-𝐓𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞 𝐓𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐦 𝐝𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐔𝐍𝐏 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐞𝐞

Cassey Mae D. Ballano and Zoe Joy G. Tamonte forged their way to victory as they clinched the most-coveted championship in this year’s University of Northern Philippines Invitational Spelling Bee held at the Romualdo Tadena Hall on October 16, 2024.

The two laboratorians spelled 24 out of 30 words correctly during the preliminary and final round – besting other twenty (20) teams from various public and private schools across the province.

Following their unprecedented triumph in the spelling tilt, Ballano mentioned, “We only had an ample time to prepare, yet we were able to land on the top spot.” To which Tamonte seconded and added, “We will double our efforts to read and review to defend our title next year.”

Meanwhile, the curtain fell for Jairus D. Go Bieng and Joyce Alizielle B. Baluyot, last year’s runners-up in the General Knowledge Category, together with their new teammate, Angelique Krisanta J. Yacap, as they settled in the 11th place.

The duo received a certificate of recognition and a 5,000-peso cash prize.
