This Teachersโ Month, Romblon State University celebrates its alumni educators whose passion, dedication, and commitment continue to inspire learners and create meaningful impact beyond the classroom.
Meet ๐ ๐ฟ. ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ๐ ๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐น๐ถ๐ด๐๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐น๐น๐ฎ๐ป๐ผ, an RSU alumnus who completed his high school education at Santa Fe National High School in 2008 and earned his ๐๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฒ๐น๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ฆ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐ถ๐ป ๐๐ถ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ from ๐ฅ๐ผ๐บ๐ฏ๐น๐ผ๐ป ๐ฆ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐จ๐ป๐ถ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐๐ in ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ฐ. He later completed his Master of Science in Aquaculture from Central Luzon State University in 2020, further strengthening his expertise in the field.
With ๐ญ๐ฎ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ of service in education, Mr. Gallano currently serves as Assistant Professor I and Program Chairperson of the College of Marine Sciences and Aquatic Resources (CMSAR), RSU Santa Fe Campus, Poblacion, Santa Fe, Romblon. His commitment to professional growth was recognized through the Professional Growth Award during the RSU Gawad Parangal 2020.

For Mr. Gallano, teaching is a two-way process. His students have taught him to become more patient, understanding, and adaptable, recognizing that every learner has different abilities, experiences, and ways of learning.
They have also reminded him that an educator's role goes beyond sharing knowledge. It means listening, inspiring, and encouraging students to believe in themselves. Most importantly, his students have shown him that even small efforts and simple words of encouragement can make a meaningful difference in a learnerโs life.
For aspiring educators, particularly future RSU Fisheries educators, Mr. Gallano emphasizes that teaching is not simply about sharing knowledgeโit is about inspiring lives and shaping the future of fisheries.
He encourages future educators to teach with passion, lead by example, and never stop learning. He also challenges them to look closely at the aquatic environment, understand its problems, and allow these challenges to inspire solutionsโnot only when recognition is given, but because protecting the environment is simply the right thing to do.
He reminds future Fisheries educators to develop an environment-friendly mindset, recognizing their responsibility to protect oceans, promote sustainable practices, and inspire others to do the same for generations to come.
His message is a powerful call to action:
Teach with purpose. Serve with passion. Protect our oceans. Make a difference for the next generation. ๐๐
