​That is the alarming number of young Filipinos who started smoking or va**ng in just a single year, according to the Quezon City Government. In addition, Tobacco-related diseases kill 112,000 Filipinos annually, and the total economic burden of to***co reaches PHP 365.79 billion every year.

​This June 2026, Don Marcelo C. Marty High School's Barkada Kontra Droga joins the nation in observing National No Smoking Month.

​Vapes and ci******es don't just cloud your judgment—they destroy your lungs and trap you in a cycle of addiction. Our youth deserve a healthier, smoke-free future. Let’s protect our lungs, choose lifestyle over smoke, and say a resounding NO to smoking and va**ng! 🚫💨

In celebration of National Flag Month, our Barkada Kontra Droga (BKD) officers took the initiative to deck our hallways with the Philippine National Flag. Seeing the three stars and the sun line our corridors is a powerful daily reminder of our shared identity, history, and resilience.

​Beyond the beautiful display, this celebration reminds us of the true essence of our flag: unity, patriotism, and love for country. By honoring our flag, we honor the heroes who fought for our freedom and recommit ourselves to building a safer, stronger, and healthier community—free from the vices that hold us back.

Temptation might feel overwhelming, but you are never truly trapped. There is always a way out—you just have to choose to take it. Stay strong and make the right escape. 💪✨

The lesson from this hugot line is that not everything (or everyone) that feels addictive is good for us. Some habits or attachments may seem comforting at first, but if they start to affect your peace, health, or future negatively, it’s better to step back. Real growth means choosing what helps you improve, not what slowly breaks you down.

Walang instant na pagbabago na madali. Yung discipline, minsan nakakainis, minsan nakakapagod, minsan parang gusto mo nang sumuko. Pero after lahat ng discomfort, doon mo makikita yung resulta—peace na hindi kayang ibigay ng quick pleasure. Hindi ngayon, pero worth it. 🔨✨
