𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐒𝐇𝐒𝐒𝐀 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔,
When we have at last gotten to the end of our journey, we realize that we are looking back on the point at which we began, seeing there the ideas that had originally been only plans, the responsibilities which gradually turned into commitments, and a team that ended up being more than just a group of officers.
This year we discovered that leadership wasn't about being in front; it was about being with other people. There were occasions when things didn't turn out as intended, times when we doubted ourselves, and periods when the weight of our responsibilities seemed very heavy. Yet throughout all the difficulties we managed to learn, adjust, and go on. And at some point during this journey we came to the realization that the memories we had made, the people we had met, and the lives we had touched were more important than any title we held.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀.
We are not giving them to you as trophies, but as responsibilities. Handle them with humility, act with a clear purpose, listen before speaking, serve before you take on a leadership role, and keep in mind that SHSSA has always been greater than the people who hold its positions. There will be times when you will question whether you are doing enough. In such cases, recall why you began and remember that each small effort can contribute to something much greater.
Make mistakes, learn from them, rejoice in your victories even if they are small, and create something that the following batch can be proud to inherit.
𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗹, 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻.
Even though we are leaving the positions behind, we are leaving with thanks—for each and every meeting, each and every event, each and every laugh, each and every problem that we solved together, and for each and every moment which made this chapter worth remembering.
The journey hasn't come to an end here, it has just passed from one person to another.
