The seminar, entitled โ๐๐๐๐๐๐ฅ๐ฆ๐๐๐ฃ ๐๐๐ฌ๐ข๐ก๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐ง๐ฆ: ๐๐ ๐ฃ๐ข๐ช๐๐ฅ๐ ๐๐ก๐ง ๐๐ก๐ ๐๐๐ฉ๐๐๐ข๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ก๐ง ๐๐ข๐ฅ ๐ง๐๐ ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐, was conducted by the Youth Development Office of Sta. Barbara.
The activity provided young people, especially aspiring future leaders, youth representatives, and student leaders, with an opportunity to learn, engage, reflect, and understand the responsibilities and realities of being a student leader.
One of the highlights of the event was the presence of Mr. John Gabriel R. Paragas, former DMNHS SSLG President, Founder and President of TOGIOPAN, and LYDC and PYDRRM Council Member.
His words throughout the session made the event even more meaningful and inspiring. He reminded the future generation of our nation to become trustworthy student leaders and encouraged us to embrace our responsibilities and duties while remaining transparent in our actions. He also reminded us to stay honest and, most importantly, to take accountability for our decisions and actions.
We would also like to extend our unwavering and heartfelt gratitude to our brilliant speakers for excellently discussing their respective topics and sharing their knowledge, experiences, and insights with sincerity and purpose. To the SK Federation Vice President, Hon. Melissa R. De Vera, we are grateful for her meaningful discussion on โEmpowering Youth Through Voter Education.โ
Her unforgettable words, โWE LISTEN, AND WE JUDGE, BUT WE DONโT DISCRIMINATE,โ reminded us to be honest and genuine in forming our own thoughts and perspectives about politics, leadership, and civic participation.Through her discussion, she reminded us of the importance of becoming responsible and informed young voters and encouraged us to inspire others through our participation. Every vote carries a voice and contributes to the future of our nation.
To our beloved SK Federation Secretary, Hon. Jamille G. Taluban, thank you for tackling the topic โInjecting Influence and Boosting Leadership to Future Leaders.โ
Through this discussion, we were reminded not to lose hope in influencing and inspiring future leaders who are willing to serve and take on higher responsibilities. We were also reminded of the importance of knowing ourselves, understanding our purpose, and recognizing our responsibilities before seeking higher positions.
And to our honorable last but certainly not the least speaker, Mr. Lance Morta Escano, thank you for sharing a wonderful and meaningful lesson entitled: Lingkod, Hindi Lord: The Untold Realities of Public Service โ A Guide for Future Leaders.โ Through his discussion, we learned about the different aspects and key factors of becoming a responsible leader and a source of inspiration to others. He reminded us that we are not the Lord; we are servants of the youth and the people. Leadership is about service. Serve with your heart, serve with purpose, and serve with genuine intention. Their engaging and heartwarming discussions gave us different perspectives and valuable lessons about youth participation, civic responsibility, voter education, and leadership.
Through their excellent lessons and delivery, we were inspired to ask more questions, raise concerns, and actively participate in meaningful conversations and activities. Aside from the discussions and lessons, we also had the opportunity to enjoy various games and activities alongside other SSLG representatives. These activities allowed us to communicate, build connections, and meet fellow young student leaders from different schools. The activities reminded us of the importance of teamwork, cooperation, communication, and being open to others.
We are deeply grateful and thankful to the Youth Development Office of Sta. Barbara for conducting and managing this wonderful and unforgettable activity, where young leaders were given the opportunity to connect, learn, participate, and grow.
We would also like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our brilliant and supportive Principal, Sir Dominador V. Nabor Jr., for allowing ten members of the SSLG to participate in this meaningful event. We also extend our sincere appreciation to one of our SSLG Advisers, Sir John Paul S. Sentinellar, for joining, guiding, and supporting us throughout this event. Through their actions, guidance, and presence, we were given the opportunity to experience an event that strengthened our understanding of leadership and service.
This event reminded us to become more transparent, informed, and โmulatโ when it comes to politics, elections, and serving our nation and the youth. As student leaders, we serve through both our actions and our words. We must also be ready to face criticism and failure because these are part of the journey of leadership. What matters is how we learn from them, remain accountable, and continue to serve with sincerity.
