Thank you so much for attending our first alumni meeting after the April 2026 Grand Alumni Homecoming.

1PM. Meeting with the Alumni Officers with the presence of 9 officers, having a quorum and our adviser Maam Felly Malones, SBCES Principal was also present. Our treasurer, Maam Edith Suñer presented the Financial Statement and declared that we still have P75,952.18 as Alumni Fund.

We unanimously approved the reshuffling of officers: Maam Cynthia Alianza as Treasurer, Sir Dino Sustento as Secretary and Maam Edith Suñer as Assistant Auditor while all other positions are status quo.

2:30 PM. We are very grateful for the presence of our 2027 Jubilarians: Sapphire (Class 1982), Emerald (Class 1972), Diamond (Class 1967) and Golden (Class 1977). We have initially assigned tasks for next year’s Grand Alumni Homecoming and did some evaluation of the recent celebration, vowed to improve and make some necessary changes to make the 2027 homecoming successful.

Next meeting will be on October 4, 2026, Sunday, 2PM. We hope for all other Jubilarians’ cooperation and attendance.

We have added solar lamps in the SBCES Park to make it a well lighted and safe space.

Our Park is a work in progress. We are hoping for the rainy season to come so that the plants will finally thrive.

We were surprised that Cong. Doc Kathy and Former Cong. Mike Gorriceta visited us even if they were scheduled to visit Brgy. Duyanduyan at the same time. The power couple, our supportive patron and also a generous donor of our park was also amazed of the old story on how the iconic sundial came to be.

Part 2. April 17, 2026. Inauguration and blessing of the SBCES Park. A well attended event by LGU officials, School heads, original donors/representatives of the sundial, alumni officers, Jubilarians and donors of the park.

Officiated by Rev. Dennis Abalorio, it was a sacred ceremony with the presence of a Santa Barbaranhon deacon and with Mayor Dennis Superficial and Vice mayor Monsik Sullano reminiscing memorable experiences playing at the sundial area.

Adding significance and meaning to the morning activity is the presence of the original sundial donors Maam Marilou Apura-Sabidong, Maam Teresa Simoy-Dequilla and Maam Crispina Sudario, who at 102 years old did not miss the event. A descendant of Sir Jose Sorongon, district Supervisor and Maam Maria Sorongon, acting Principal; Mr. Rudy Sorongon was also there together with family members of the donors who already passed on. Some members of Class 1967 whose parents also helped in constructing the sundial were also present, they were grade 6 at that time.

It was a good day for SBCES and to remind us to remember this day with a hopeful heart that more people will go back and help our Alma mater.
