FROM STA. ANA TO SOUTH CAROLINA

The inspiring story of Mrs. Arlene Marie M. Ocampo, a proud Kapampangan and Holy Cross Colleges, Inc. alumna, was recently featured by The Global Filipino Magazine, highlighting her journey as a Filipino educator making a difference abroad.

As a Crucian, we are honored to share her story with our HCC community. Before teaching thousands of miles away at Lake Marion High School in South Carolina, Mrs. Ocampo served HCCI as an English Instructor and SHS English Coordinator.

Her journey reflects the courage to embrace new spaces, draw from one’s experiences, and continue making an impact. From her background in radio broadcasting, theater direction, and community festivals, she developed her own teaching framework, PACELIT, to connect with her students in meaningful ways.

Her message to fellow Filipino educators abroad is a reminder worth carrying: “Never shrink your worth to fit into a new space.”

We celebrate her not only for the work she continues to do abroad, but also for the part of her journey that began here at Holy Cross Colleges, Inc.

Once a young mother who believed her dreams were over, Arlene Marie M. Ocampo now teaches ninth-grade English at a high school in South Carolina, where she pioneered her own arts-driven approach to reaching American teens.

The Kapampangan educator nearly walked away during a defeated first year abroad before leaning on her background in theater and broadcasting to win her students over.

IN MEMORIAM | Mrs. Maria Teresa Aniceto Edejer

The whole Holy Cross College community mourns the passing of our beloved Senior High School Principal, Mrs. Maria Teresa Aniceto Edejer, who dedicated 39 years of faithful and selfless service to HCC.

Throughout her long and meaningful service, Mrs. Edejer held various positions and touched the lives of countless students, colleagues, and members of the HCC community. She will always be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and genuine heart, which inspired everyone around her.

Her dedication to education and her unwavering commitment to the HCC community have left a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire generations to come.

We extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, colleagues, and all those who had the privilege of knowing and working with her.

Thank you for 39 years of love, service, and dedication to Holy Cross College.

May her soul rest in eternal peace. 🕊️

A LASTING GIFT TO OUR ALMA MATER

We extend our heartfelt gratitude and sincere appreciation to Batch 71 for the generous donation of the Image of St. Michael the Archangel. This meaningful gift reflects your faith, generosity, and commitment to our beloved alma mater. As the patron of protection and courage, St. Michael the Archangel serves as a lasting reminder of the Christian values that continue to inspire our community.

We are pleased to announce that the Blessing of the Image of St. Michael the Archangel will be held on August 14 at our Chapel. The image will be permanently enshrined there as a source of prayer, reflection, and spiritual inspiration for generations of Crucians.

The members of HCA Batch 71 are invited to join us for this special occasion as we celebrate this meaningful gift and offer our prayers of thanksgiving together.

GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY, ONE PROJECT AT A TIME.

Last Saturday, the HCC High School Batch 2001 Alumni donated paint and painting materials to three public elementary schools to help improve their learning environments.

This is just one of the many meaningful projects of Batch 2001. Previously, they also extended their support through the HCC Alumni Santa Cruzan for a Cause 2026.

Looking ahead, the batch hopes to establish a scholarship program for deserving students, further strengthening its mission to make quality education more accessible.
