In line with the Department of Education's (DepEd) revised guidelines, classes and work from Kindergarten to Grade 12, including the Alternative Learning System (ALS), are automatically suspended in schools located in areas where the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issues an Orange or Red Rainfall Warning.

As of 5:00 AM today, Friday, January 3, 2025, PAGASA has issued Weather Advisory No. 74 concerning the Shear Line, forecasting ORANGE or heavy to intense rainfall (100-200 mm) for Cagayan.

𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗘𝗱 𝗥𝗢 𝗜 𝗿𝗲𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗯𝗲𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁

The Department of Education (DepED) Regional Office I has released Regional Memorandum No. 73, s. 2025, reiterating the strict implementation of undisturbed instructional engagement between teachers and learners for School Year 2024-2025.

This memorandum reinforces the provisions stated in Regional Memorandum No. 1479, s. 2024, which prohibits all school-based activities, both curricular and non-curricular, that disrupt regular class hours.

Schools are reminded to prioritize contact hours for the effective delivery of core curriculum content. Any activity that requires preparation or rehearsal must be conducted beyond class hours or on weekends, subject to existing DepEd and CSC rules and regulations.
