𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐎𝐘 𝐀𝐐𝐔𝐈𝐍𝐎 𝐃𝐀𝐘

"The Filipino is worth dying for."

Today, we remember 𝙉𝙞𝙣𝙤𝙮 𝘼𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙣𝙤—not simply as a Filipino leader, but as a man who chose courage in the face of oppression.

As a senator and a voice for democracy, Ninoy stood against injustice despite imprisonment, exile, and threats to his life. He could have remained safely abroad, but he chose to return home, knowing the risks that awaited him.

On 𝘼𝙪𝙜𝙪𝙨𝙩 21, 1983, Ninoy was assassinated after returning to the Philippines. His death, however, did not silence his voice. Instead, it awakened a nation and strengthened the Filipino people's call for freedom and democracy.

Today, may we honor his sacrifice not only by remembering his name, but by living out the values he stood for—𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙜𝙚, 𝙛𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙤𝙢, 𝙙𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙘𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙮, and 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙮.

𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 — Today, the world observes the 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱’𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀, honoring the rich cultures, traditions, knowledge, and invaluable contributions of Indigenous Peoples around the world.

This year’s theme, “𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗠𝗶𝗱𝘄𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀: 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗹-𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴,” highlights the vital role of Indigenous midwives in safeguarding traditional knowledge, supporting the well-being of their communities, and passing knowledge and practices from one generation to the next.

The International Day is observed every August 9. It was established by the 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝘆 in 1994 through Resolution 49/214. The date also commemorates the first meeting of the 𝗨𝗡 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗣𝗼𝗽𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, which was held in Geneva in 1982.

In the Philippines, 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗰𝘁 𝗡𝗼. 𝟭𝟬𝟲𝟴𝟵 declares August 9 as 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆. The law recognizes the importance of advancing the rights and collective well-being of Indigenous Peoples and declares the occasion a special working holiday.

More than a commemoration, this day reminds us to listen to, respect, and uphold 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀, 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀.

Let us recognize Indigenous Peoples as living and vibrant communities whose knowledge, heritage, and contributions continue to shape our present and inspire our future.

The highlight of the ceremony was the oath-taking and induction rites administered by 𝙃𝙤𝙣. 𝙅𝙤𝙨𝙚𝙥𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝘼𝙣𝙣𝙚 𝘿. 𝘾𝙖𝙣𝙡𝙖𝙨, 𝘼𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙈𝙖𝙮𝙤𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙈𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙥𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙎𝙖𝙣 𝙎𝙞𝙢𝙤𝙣. In her message, she encouraged the newly elected officers to lead with integrity, responsibility, and dedication while serving both the school and the wider community.

The ceremony also recognized the dedication and accomplishments of the 𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙜𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙧𝙨, thanking them for their valuable service and contributions. Their efforts were acknowledged as instrumental in advancing various school programs and initiatives that benefited the 𝘿𝙚𝙡𝙖𝙥𝙖𝙯𝙞𝙖𝙣 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮.

Attended by school officials, teachers, parents, students, and local government representatives, the event reflected the strong partnership among stakeholders in promoting quality education, student leadership, and active community participation.

As the newly inducted officers begin their respective terms, 𝘿𝙚𝙡𝙖 𝙋𝙖𝙯-𝙇𝙞𝙗𝙪𝙩𝙖𝙙 𝙃𝙞𝙜𝙝 𝙎𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙡 expressed confidence in their ability to lead with excellence and inspire meaningful change. A FATHER'S LOVE IS THE FIRST SEED OF EVERY DREAM

Behind every achievement is a father whose dedication, sacrifices, and unwavering determination help pave the way for a brighter future. Through long days, difficult choices, and countless responsibilities, fathers continue to provide strength, guidance, and hope for the families they cherish.

This Father’s Day, Dela Paz Libutad High School pays tribute to all fathers and father figures whose love is expressed through action, perseverance, and selfless devotion. Whether they are at home or working far from their children, their presence is felt in every lesson taught, every dream encouraged, and every success celebrated. Their sacrifices become the foundation upon which families grow, reminding us that a father's love knows no distance and no boundaries.

Today, we honor the men whose courage, hard work, and enduring commitment continue to inspire generations and shape a better tomorrow.

𝑱𝒖𝒏𝒆 𝟏𝟎, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔— Dela Paz Libutad High School conducted a “Reorientation and Simulation on Earthquake Drill Procedures” to strengthen disaster preparedness among learners, teachers, and non-teaching personnel. The activity was held in response to the recent magnitude 7.8 earthquake that affected parts of Mindanao and aimed to increase awareness of proper safety measures during earthquakes.

During the reorientation, 𝑺𝒊𝒓 𝑹𝒐𝒎𝒖𝒍𝒐𝒖 𝑺. 𝑪𝒖𝒏𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒏, one of the teachers of Dela Paz Libutad High School, discussed the importance of earthquake drills and explained the proper procedures to be followed during an earthquake. He emphasized the significance of the "𝑫𝒖𝒄𝒌, 𝑪𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑯𝒐𝒍𝒅" techniques, proper evacuation practices, and the need for everyone to remain calm and alert in emergency situations.

After the discussion, a simulation drill was conducted to allow students and school personnel to apply what they had learned. Upon hearing the emergency signal, participants immediately performed the prescribed safety measures and evacuated in an orderly manner to the designated assembly areas. The activity helped familiarize everyone with the school's emergency response procedures.

The successful conduct of the reorientation and simulation demonstrated the school's commitment to promoting safety and disaster preparedness. Through informative discussions and practical exercises, Dela Paz Libutad High School continues to equip its learners and personnel with the knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively during emergencies.
