๐ด | BANTAYAN NHS celebrates the 2026 National Arts Month with the theme "๐๐๐พ ๐๐ ๐ฎ๐พ๐๐พ๐๐: ๐ฆ๐ถ๐๐๐๐๐ฝ๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ ๐ถ๐ ๐ข๐พ๐๐พ๐๐" which reminds us that arts is not just an expression of creativity, but a powerful reflection of Filipino spirits and values-truth and valor.
Art is the heartbeat of our community and the most vibrant way to tell our collective stories. For this year's highlight of the celebration, learners showcased their talents and skills featuring various folkdances of Eastern Visayas. This tells us that arts is the ultimate mirror of truth and valor, and nowhere is this more vibrant than in the rhythmic heritage of Eastern Visayas. As we celebrate the 'Harvest of Arts' (Ani ng Sining), we embody the resilience of the Waray-Waray spirits through our traditional folk dances. From the playful but firm pursuit of the Curacha Samarenos, which reflects our communityโs unity and grace, to the twist and turns of Tiyadot, to the hardworking people of Leyte through their Gaway-gaway dance, to the ever-friendly people of Capul, Northern Samar as embodied in the Dos Amigos Folkdance. These movements are more than just entertainment; they are a testament to our 'Katotohanan at Giting,' proving that even in the face of adversity, the Filipino spirit never backs down from a fight.
