STUDENT SERVICES UNITS ORIENTATION FOR COLLEGE OF MEDICINE FRESHMEN

As part of its commitment to ensuring a smooth transition to university life, the Guidance and Counseling Services Center (GCSC) – San Rafael Campus, in partnership with the University's Student Services Units, successfully conducted a Student Services Units Orientation for the first-year Doctor of Medicine students on July 15, 2026, at Bulacan State University – San Rafael Campus.

The orientation introduced the students to the University's policies, procedures, and essential support services that will assist them throughout their medical education. It also provided an avenue for meaningful discussions on academic, personal, and student welfare concerns, helping the incoming medical students become more familiar with the University's resources and support system.

The session featured presentations by Mr. Christian Jordan of the Guidance and Counseling Services Center, Mr. Eduard Bautista of the Infirmary, Ms. Ma. Christina Ruth Cruz of the University Library, and Ms. Jane Desiree Adarme, who discussed services and important information from the Dean's Office and the Registrar.

Following the orientation, the Student Services personnel accompanied the students on a tour of the University's key service offices, including the Counseling Center, University Library, and Infirmary. The office visits helped students become acquainted with the facilities and encouraged them to make the most of the support services available throughout their academic journey.

The successful conduct of this activity was made possible through the support of Dr. Noelyn Orro-Bernal, Dean of the College of Medicine, and Dr. Crizelda L. Salita, Campus Dean of Bulacan State University – San Rafael Campus. The GCSC also expresses its heartfelt appreciation to Associate Dean Dr. Ryan Josef D.C. Tuazon and Dr. Nordivince R. Legaspi for their valuable cooperation and for graciously allocating class time to accommodate the orientation.

Through initiatives like this, Bulacan State University – San Rafael Campus continues to support holistic student development by ensuring every future physician starts their medical journey with the knowledge, resources, and support they need to thrive academically and personally.

Sometimes, we won't always agree with every situation we face. It is okay to voice out your concerns, ask questions, and express your opinions. Your voice matters. However, we don't need to approach every situation with a sense of entitlement. Before reacting, pause to understand the whole picture and consider the impact of your words and actions. There is often more to a situation than what we see at first.

Being reactive means letting emotions take control. Being proactive means staying calm, seeking understanding, looking at the facts, and responding with reason and respect.

Remember, maturity is not measured by how quickly we react, but by how thoughtfully we respond. Choose understanding over assumptions. Choose purpose over impulse.

Huminga nang malalim, huminahon, at damhin ang biyaya ng buhay. Bukas ay panibagong pagkakataon upang muling magsikap at magpatuloy.

The Guidance and Counseling Services Center of Bulacan State University–San Rafael Campus, in collaboration with Bulacan State University - College of Medicine, successfully conducted the Psychological Testing and Cumulative Record Filing for the 53 incoming College of Medicine students on June 26, 2026. This initiative reflects the university's continuing commitment to supporting the personal, academic, and professional development of future physicians.

The psychological testing assessed three key areas: mental ability, personality, and socio-emotional functioning. These assessments provide valuable insights into each student's cognitive abilities, personal characteristics, and emotional well-being. The results will serve as a guide for the GCSC in planning appropriate counseling, developmental programs, and other support services throughout the students' medical education.

The Cumulative Record Filing also established a confidential and comprehensive student profile containing relevant personal, academic, and developmental information. This record will help the GCSC monitor students' growth and provide timely guidance and appropriate interventions whenever needed.

The activity was administered by Mr. Christian E. Jordan, RGC, Guidance Counselor of BulSU–San Rafael Campus.

We warmly welcome our future physicians to the College of Medicine. As they begin this important journey, we hope they will continue to grow not only in knowledge and clinical competence but also in integrity, compassion, resilience, and a deep commitment to serving others. The Guidance and Counseling Services Center looks forward to walking alongside them as they become competent, compassionate, and dedicated medical professionals.

As you start this new academic year, give yourself the chance to learn something new every day. Not every lesson will come from books. Some will come from your professors, your classmates, your successes, and even your mistakes.

There will be days that are easy and days that will test you. Keep going anyway. Believe in what you can become, even if you don't see it yet. The effort you make today will open doors you never imagined.

Take this year one day at a time. Learn well, grow with purpose, and never stop believing that your future is worth working for.

The Registrar’s Office - San Rafael Campus accepts requests for the issuance of the Certified True Copy of Certificate of Grades (COG) and Certificate of Registration (COR).

IMPORTANT REMINDER ‼️
All Certificate of Registration must be validated before requesting a Certified True Copy (CTC).

REQUIREMENTS:
✅ One (1) original valid ID
✅ Photocopy of Certificate of Registration
✅ Photocopy of Certificate of Grades
✅ Official Receipt of Payment (25php per Certification)

As we conclude this semester with final exams, remember you showed up, even on the days it was hard. You gave what you could, even when it didn’t feel like enough. Maybe it wasn’t perfect, but you stayed. You kept going. This semester wasn’t just about grades. It was about trying, learning, and not giving up when it would’ve been easier to give up. So breathe, rest, and be a little proud of how far you’ve made it.

As this week comes to a close, keep in mind that even the strongest among us need rest to recharge and keep moving forward. Sometimes, we only recognize this when we're already feeling exhausted. You might find yourself pushing through, telling yourself you’ll rest later, just one more thing to complete. But eventually, it catches up with you. That’s when you realize that taking time to rest isn’t about falling behind, it’s about taking care of yourself so you don’t break.
