Bernice, known to many as Mommy Bernz, brings her expertise as a Virtual Business Integrator and Growth & People Culture Integrator, blending operational excellence with a heart for community building. Enzo, with his background in corporate communications and virtual assistance, brings a strong foundation in process management, tech systems, and client support. Focus your spiritual energies on cultivating a robust, deep, unshakable, satisfying delight in God as God.

And only then will we be in a position to receive the rest of this verse: “He will give you the desires of your heart.”

Lead with conviction 💯💪

Parenting isn’t about making every moment easy.

The habits you build at home today shape your child’s health, character and resilience for years to come.

That means sometimes choosing what’s better over what’s easier. Sometimes setting a boundary your kids don’t understand yet. Sometimes going against what culture has decided is “normal.”

You don’t have to parent perfectly. But I do believe our kids need parents who are willing to lead with conviction instead of simply following the crowd.

Reality kicks in.

My 4Ms are growing.

Marco is 16.
Martina is 14.
Margaret is 12, turning 13 very soon.
Marzel is 11.

And our homeschooling journey grew with them.

Today, three of my four are in school, with two on scholarships.
One graduating through ALS after years of homeschooling.
And one still learning at home with me.

I used to define myself as a homeschooling mom.

Now I understand myself more.
I was always an intentional mom.
Homeschooling was the method.
Intentionality was always the mission.

With everything happening in our schools right now... the violence, the fear, the grief of families we don't know but feel connected to.

I am more convinced than ever:

The most powerful thing we can give our children is not a curriculum.

It's a home where they are truly known.

Where faith is lived, not just talked about.
Where sulit-tipid is a value, not just a budget strategy.
Where kapwa has malasakit, the caring for one another starts inside our own four walls.

This page has always been our family's honest story.

The messy, beautiful, faith-tested, grace-covered story of raising four humans intentionally.

It continues.

And if you're in a season of questioning how to parent well in a world that feels increasingly unsafe... you're not alone.

You never were.

Let's keep building families that can withstand anything.

Let's hold on to God's truth in building our families...

"Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. " - Psalm 127:1

Sulit-Tipid isn't just about saving money.

It's about making sure every resource you use... every minute, every peso, every effort actually counts.

That's why we built an app that doesn't waste your time on what you already know.

Instead of asking "What lesson is next?" it asks:
"How are you today?"

Mood check.
Overwhelm level.
A 5-minute mindset reset we call the Sulit-Tipid Reframe.
Faith-based coping cards written for homeschool parents like you.

Because the most sulit investment you can make is in yourself... so you can show up fully for your family.

"UP Naming Mahal."

Those words never get old, no matter how many years have passed since I sat in those halls of CFNR.

I watched this reel of the CFNR Class of 2026 testimonial rites, and one particular moment stayed with me... Marifel Balbarona's iglap-protesta, calling out the injustice woven into the very ground we studied to protect.

She said it plainly: "Hindi hiwalay ang pangangalaga sa kalikasan sa pakikibaka ng mga batayang sektor. Environmental protection has never been separate from the struggle of ordinary communities."

I felt that.

Because that's exactly what drew me to FNRG-Forestry and Natural Resources, UPLB Department of Social Forestry and Forest Governance, under DSFFG. We weren't just trained to plant trees or manage forests.

We were trained to ask harder questions:
📌Who has access to the land?
📌Who carries the weight of its scarcity?
📌Who gets left out of the systems meant to protect them?

Those questions never really left me.

It shows up now in how I homeschool my four kids.

I am teaching them that stewardship isn't just about caring for creation; it's about caring for kapwa.

It shows up in how I built STPH because I believe systems should serve people, not the other way around.

Good governance, whether over land or over an organization, always comes back to the same principle: alignment between purpose and people.

And it shows up in my faith, because the call to stewardship isn't new.

It's Genesis.
Tend the garden.
Care for one another.
Serve with justice, not just intention.

To the CFNR Class of 2026, you're graduating into a country that still needs foresters who understand roots, not just of trees, but of conflict, of poverty, of injustice.
Carry that with grace.
Carry that with courage.

UPLB will always have my heart.💘
FNRG will always be part of my formation.💘
And I pray it keeps shaping how I lead, homeschool, and build one system, one child, one act of service at a time.🙏
Let's build with people at the core.🔥

Recent news about school violence and bullying reminded me why our family continues to believe that education is more than academics.

As parents, we want our children to excel.
But beyond excellence, we want them to develop compassion, courage, integrity, and respect for others.

This school year, our children entered new academic programs and opportunities. We celebrate those achievements, but we celebrate something else even more:
The character is being built behind the scenes.

At home, some of our most important lessons are not found in textbooks.

They happen through conversations about kindness, accountability, emotional resilience, and how we treat people who are different from us.

A strong nation begins with strong families.

Let's continue raising children who not only succeed but also uplift others.

📚 First Day of High School: A Homeschool Milestone

Today is a special day for our family.

Marco begins Grade 9 in the Enhanced Science Pilot Section of Los Baños National High School.

Martina begins Grade 7 in the Specialized Journalism Program.

As a homeschool family, moments like these remind us that learning does not stop because a child is not enrolled in a traditional school.

Over the years, we learned at home, borrowed books, used secondhand resources, explored interests, asked questions, made mistakes, and trusted God one step at a time.

This year, Marco also passed the Philippine Science High School Grade 9 transfer qualifying exam. While we continue to wait for the final slot availability, we are grateful for what this achievement represents: perseverance, growth, and God's faithfulness.

More than scholarships, pilot sections, or entrance exams, we celebrate the character our children are developing.

God has been faithful through every season.

To fellow homeschool families: keep going.

Your efforts matter more than you think.
