1 Thessalonians 1:6

You became imitators of us and of the Lord; in spite of severe suffering, you welcomed the message with the joy given by the Holy Spirit.

Commentary

Many of us find it easy to let our circumstances determine our moods. Paul is addressing a group of new Christians in Thessalonica who had been under attack from the beginning of their Christian lives (Acts 17:5-9). Yet Paul reminded these believers that their new life in Christ had brought them joy despite their outwardly harsh circumstances. Their joy was not a fleeting, circumstance-determined veneer. Instead, they welcomed the powerful message of salvation with joy despite "severe suffering." Their joy was not dependent upon their earthly circumstances. Instead, they rooted their joy in their Savior's example, his abiding presence through the Holy Spirit, and his promised salvation.

Prayer

Dear heavenly Father, please make my joy immune to outward circumstances. Please empower that joy through your Holy Spirit abiding in me. Please bless and empower me as I seek to conform my life and attitude to the example of my Savior. Please help me become a better example of spiritual joy to those around me. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

HOTS is a DTI Registered tutorial service. We offer Spanish language classes online for Aspiring bilingual and to anyone who wants to dip their toes in this beautiful language for fun or out of curiosity :) This can also be for young students who need help with their Spanish subject as part of their curriculum.
I am a passionate learner advance level C1 and aspiring for the C2 DELE certificate and tutor of this beautiful Roman language. I studied Spanish out of my love of Spanish music, I continue to learn it while also using my skills at work. I also love studying our history, as I believe accepting our past makes us a better person and a better Filipino citizen :)
As a Filipina, I believe we should study something that has been part of our culture for more than 300 years.
Our First Malolos Constitution was written in Spanish, it was our official language together with English until 1987.
Our religion, fiestas, Traditions like Christmas and Mahal na araw wouldn't exist if not for Spanish.
I could list a thousands of reasons why we should study it, but to be honest it is just the most practical, easy and fun language to learn, not to mention it will boost your resume and help you earn more :)

Discovering Spanish made me discover myself too.

This page was created so we can share what we learn and assist those who have just started their Spanish Language Journey.
It is my desire that this language be added to the curriculum of our students, espero :)
