SAN PABLO CITY, LAGUNAโ€”The Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) student-trainees of 1BSA 2 organized a storytelling and feeding event at Brgy. Sta. Maria Covered Court on May 10th, marking the culmination of their fifth and final Sunday community outreach activity.

The program began at around 10 a.m. with a heartfelt prayer, setting a warm tone for the day. Children, many accompanied by their parents, eagerly participated in the activities. Three awardโ€‘winning childrenโ€™s stories were brought to life by 1BSA 2 students in partnership with Book Nook Rizal, Laguna. Featured works included Chenelyn, Chenelyn! by Rhandee Garlitos with illustrations by Liza Flores, Bayong ng Kuting by Mae Astrid Tabios, and Mommy ni Kuya, Mommy Ko! by Segundo D. Matias Jr., both illustrated by Ghani Madueรฑo.

Adding delight, National Service Training Program (NSTP) Director Sir Avelino Audije and CWTS coordinators from various departments made a surprise visit. Sir Audije captivated the audience by narrating Alamat ng Sampaloc Lake, sparking curiosity and imagination among the children.

The trainees also prepared interactive games that allowed the kids to apply lessons from the stories while showcasing their cognitive and social skills. After story time, snacks and hearty meals were served, bringing joy and nourishment to all attendees. Certificates of gratitude were awarded to Brgy. Sta. Maria and Hon. Renato Brion Jr., recognizing their support throughout the fiveโ€‘week outreach journey.

The event concluded with laughter, gratitude, and shared experiences that left lasting impact on both the children and the volunteers. For the trainees of 1BSA 2, the program was a fulfilling culmination of their community service journeyโ€”having cleaned the community, promoted sustainable planting, emphasized students' mental health awareness, and, finally, nourished both the body and mind of young individuals. #

SAN PABLO CITY, LAGUNAโ€”Civic Welfare and Training Service (CWTS) students of 1BSA 2 from Laguna State Polytechnic Universityโ€“San Pablo City Campus (LSPU-SPCC) successfully conducted a mental health seminar, serving as the highlight of their 4th Sunday community outreach program at Brgy. Sta. Maria, May 3.

The event gathered students of the abovementioned barangay, nearby residents, and local officials, led by Hon. Renato Brion Jr., along with the 1BSA 2 trainees. Adding depth to the program, guest speaker Hon. Lyka Calongcalong, RPm, took center stage, sharing practical knowledge and insightful perspectives on the importance of mental health in todayโ€™s time.

Following the seminar proper, food was distributed to students who actively engaged and participated in the programโ€”fostering both learning and community spirit.

With the theme โ€œItโ€™s Okay Not To Be Okay: Supporting Student Well-Being," the seminar created a meaningful, safe, and open space for conversation, reminding everyone that mental health is a vital part of student welfare.

Finally, the students of 1BSA 2 extended their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made this initiative possible, hoping that this effort contributed to the ongoing call to champion the health and well-being of students in the community. #
