This event showcases the profound and vast variety of experimental theses from the 10 selected fourth-year groups that stood out among many studies this year.

The 2nd Pinning Ceremony of the 3rd Year BS Biology students, with the theme “𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬: 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐦, 𝐃𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞” is currently being held at the University Amphitheater this May 20.

They have evolved from the foundational curiosity of their early years into the specialized knowledge and focused intent required of professional biologists. 🫀🩺

The Biological Society’s annual biology quiz bee themed “𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐲 𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬: 𝐀 𝐇𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭” was held at the university Research Conference room, last April 13, Monday. 11 teams took the challenge and competed to prove who was worthy of the title and can conquer the vast wonders of biology. 🍃

We commend all the participants for a marvelous and intense battle of wits. We also thank the Biological Society officers and faculty members who have helped make this event possible. 🫡 This quiz bee will not be a success if it weren’t for these hardworking people behind the scene and brave contestants that are the main highlight of this event.

One of our Ka-Bio, Francis Luis Urrea (BS Biology 1-B2), was diagnosed with Secondary Erythrocytosis and is at risk for complications if his hematocrit levels continue to increase. In addition to this diagnosis, he is also managing hypokalemia and ongoing ophthalmological issues.

In support of BS Biology 1-B2’s solicitation initiative for Francis, we amplify their call and humbly reach out to the Ka-Bio community for any form of assistance to help ease the financial burden on Francis and his family.
