𝐕𝐎𝐈𝐂𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐀𝐍𝐄𝐋 || 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐁𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

Sa gitna ng patuloy na pagkalat ng maling naratibo at mabilis na daloy ng impormasyon, binigyang-diin ng mga panelist sa Bantay Bayan Seminar 2026 ang mahalagang papel ng kabataan sa pagtatanggol ng katotohanan at responsableng pakikilahok sa lipunan.

Ayon kay Gerald Bustinera, Alab Head ng Dakila San Pablo Collective, tinalakay ang usapin ng partisipasyon ng mga g**o sa politika sa konteksto ng pagiging non-partisan, at ang hamon ng paninindigan sa loob ng mga institusyong humuhubog ng kritikal na pag-iisip.

Binigyang-pansin naman ni Maria Cecilia Jhadziah Diva-Alimagno, Advisory Board ng The Ruralite, Official Student Publication ng University of the Philippines Rural High School, ang katahimikan sa gitna ng krisis bilang isang usaping may kaakibat na moral na pananagutan, na iniuugnay sa kaisipan ni Dante Alighieri hinggil sa pananahimik sa harap ng kawalang-katarungan na nagiging daan sa patuloy nitong pag-iral.

Samantala, binigyang-halaga ni John Iriel Asacta, Youth Development Officer II at Unit Head ng Local Youth Development Office of Rizal, Laguna, ang Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) bilang mahalagang espasyo ng bayan sa pamumuno, at iginiit na ito ay katuwang, hindi kalaban, sa paghubog ng makabuluhang partisipasyong panlipunan.

Mula sa mga naging pahayag ng mga tagapagsalita, nananatiling malinaw ang mensahe: ang kabataan ay hindi lamang tagapakinig, kundi aktibong tagapagtanggol ng katotohanan, kritikal na pag-iisip, at makatarungang pamumuno.

𝗕𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗬 𝗕𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗡 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲
As the month of April ends, College of Teacher Education Student Council conducted Bantay Bayan 2026 on April 30, 2026 at the LSPU–San Pablo Campus Amphitheater, in partnership with the Social Studies Society.

With the theme “Kabataan sa Pagtataguyod ng Tapat at Makataong Pamumuno sa Makabagong Panahon,” student leaders engaged in discussions on civic responsibility, good governance, wise voting, and media literacy.

The seminar deepened students’ understanding of public accountability, strengthened media literacy and political awareness, and encouraged wise voting and responsible civic participation. It also fostered a strong sense of responsibility among student leaders to act as watchdog citizens who promote truth, transparency, and participatory leadership within and beyond the university.

The event is currently taking place at the University Amphitheater, bringing together Ka-Piyu students for a meaningful discussion on governance, accountability, and civic responsibility. Three distinguished speakers are present to share insights and perspectives with the participants.

𝐌𝐄𝐄𝐓 𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐂𝐄 𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐄𝐑𝐒!

We welcome three speakers who bring strong experience in education, leadership, and public service to Bantay Bayan 2026.

𝙎𝙞𝙧 𝙂𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙡𝙙 𝘿. 𝘽𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙖, a licensed Social Studies teacher from DepEd – Felix Amante Senior High School, leads student and civic groups and drives youth training and advocacy work in the community.

𝙈𝙖’𝙖𝙢 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙖 𝘾𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙖 𝙅𝙝𝙖𝙙𝙯𝙞𝙖𝙝 𝘽. 𝘿𝙞𝙫𝙖-𝘼𝙡𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙜𝙣𝙤, an instructor from UP Rural High School, teaches English and writing and builds student journalism through her work as a campus publication adviser.

𝙎𝙞𝙧 𝙅𝙤𝙝𝙣 𝙄𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙡 𝙈. 𝘼𝙨𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙖, a licensed Mathematics teacher and Youth Development Officer II, leads policy work, youth programs, and leadership training in the Municipality of Rizal, Laguna.

They will share practical insights, real-world perspectives, and key ideas to guide the youth in promoting honest and accountable governanceto guide the youth in promoting accountable leadership and active citizenship.

Blending nourishment with knowledge, the LSPU SPCC College of Teacher Education introduced a new campus hub that pairs food with learning, unveiling its EduCafe alongside a creatively designed United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) “stairway,” April 23.

The initiative reimagines a simple staircase as a path toward awareness, with each step marked by messages tied to UN SDGs. Positioned within the CTE building, the installation invites students to reflect on global challenges as they move through their daily routines.

At the same time, EduCafe opened its doors as more than just a place to eat. CTE officials described it as a “kitchen classroom,” where meals and mentorship intersect. Dean Dr. Edilberto Z. Andal underscored that the café aims to provide affordable, nutritious options while reinforcing the link between proper nutrition and academic performance.

𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 || 𝗖𝗧𝗘 𝘂𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗶𝗹𝘀 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗖𝗮𝗳𝗲, 𝗦𝗗𝗚𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲

To provide opportunities and support for education students, College of Teacher Education (CTE) officially opened EduCafe and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Stairway at Laguna State Polytechnic University–San Pablo City Campus (LSPU-SPCC) CTE Building, April 23.

Upon opening the cafe, CTE Dean Dr. Edilberto Z. Andal highlighted its purpose, which is to serve healthy and nutritious food for the student body, followed by the blessing led by Fr. Teodoro Real.

Carrying the tagline “Nourishing minds, fueling the future,” EduCafe, in collaboration with CIT and Sip, aims to provide accessible and healthy food options while serving as a platform for student development.

Furthermore, CTE Student Council President Bianca Custodio emphasized the broader vision of the project, stating that EduCafe will also serve as a learning experience, allowing students to develop skills in entrepreneurship, resource management, and collaboration.

“Food is not only for physical sustenance, it also plays a role sa learning and overall performance natin as students,” Custodio said.

Meanwhile, SDGs stairway in the CTE building featured SDGs displayed across the walls and stairs to promote awareness and encourage students to practice sustainability; this supports the department’s goal of developing socially responsible and globally aware future educators, extending learning beyond the classroom.

CTE Student Council and sub-organizations within the department set up food booths in line with the EduCafe launch; while University President Dr. Mario R. Briones and Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Campus Director of LSPU–SPCC Engr. Manuel Luis R. Alvarez graced the event.
