Afternoon Session: A Comprehensive Seminar on Civil Service, Harassment Prevention, and Disaster Readiness!

The 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 successfully hosted the second major afternoon's seminar of our 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women, December 12, 2025, 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm, at the PLSP University Library.

‎The seminar, titled "𝙐𝙥𝙝𝙤𝙡𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙜𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚: 𝘾𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙡 𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙍𝙪𝙡𝙚𝙨, 𝙎𝙚𝙭𝙪𝙖𝙡 𝙃𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘾𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙪𝙨 𝘿𝙞𝙨𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙍𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨," provided crucial knowledge for our employees and stakeholders.

‎The session began with empowering Opening Remarks, once again, from our Director of CGEAD, 𝐌𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐬 𝐏. 𝐃𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐨, who highlighted the interconnectedness of institutional integrity and campaign goals.

‎We were deeply honored to have our first resource speaker, 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐲. 𝐈𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐥 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚, introduced by 𝐌𝐫. 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐤𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐮𝐣𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐬, the Head of Procurement.

‎Atty. Plantilla delivered an excellent and insightful lecture on Civil Service Rules and, most importantly, Sexual Harassment Prevention. The key takeaway was a powerful reminder for all PLSP employees to be vigilant and dedicated to protecting not only themselves but also our students and every member of the University community.

‎Following this, 𝐌𝐫𝐬. 𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐅. 𝐑𝐞𝐲𝐞𝐬, School Nurse & Safety Officer, introduced our second esteemed Guest Speaker, 𝐌𝐫. 𝐑𝐚𝐥𝐩𝐡 𝐊𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐍. 𝐄𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐨, who provided vital training on Campus Disaster Readiness. This session focused on proactive measures, emergency protocols, evacuation procedures, and ensuring business continuity during crises. We are grateful that this knowledge has significantly boosted our collective confidence and preparedness in ensuring the safety of our entire campus community.

‎The successful day concluded with thoughtful Closing Remarks from 𝐌𝐬. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐂. 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐠𝐨, the Admin Assistant/Head of ERGO, who sincerely thanked all attendees for their active participation, engagement, and renewed commitment to the CGEAD's mission. She emphasized that through continuous learning and unified action, we can ensure a safer and more ethical environment for all.

‎We would also like to extend a special and heartfelt appreciation to 𝐌𝐫. 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐨 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬 of the College of Teacher Education, who served as our highly efficient and engaging Master of Ceremony. Mr. Vallies expertly guided the flow of the program, ensuring the event remained organized, dynamic, and professional from start to finish.

Recapping a Successful Step Towards Equitable Education!
Morning Session: Championing a Gender-Responsive Curriculum!

The 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 is thrilled to share the highlights of our successful morning seminar held yesterday, December 12, 2025, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm at the PLSP University Library.

‎The seminar, titled, "𝘾𝙪𝙧𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙪𝙢 𝙍𝙚𝙫𝙞𝙚𝙬 𝙏𝙤𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙨 𝙄𝙣𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙀𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙀𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣: 𝘼 𝙂𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧-𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝘼𝙥𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙖𝙘𝙝" was a key component of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women.

‎The program was launched with powerful Opening Remarks from our esteemed Director of CGEAD, 𝐌𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐬 𝐏. 𝐃𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐨.

‎We were honored to hear a thoughtful Message of Support from our College Administrator, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐒𝐢𝐠𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐨 𝐂. 𝐀𝐝𝐚𝐣𝐚𝐫, 𝐋𝐏𝐓, who emphasized the importance of safeguarding the rights of women and children, as mandated by the VAWC Act. This critical law addresses various forms of abuse and violence, ensuring legal protection and support for victims.
‎
‎We were then honored to have 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐀. 𝐓𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐨, 𝐂𝐏𝐀, 𝐌𝐁𝐌, introduce our distinguished Guest Speaker, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐊𝐮𝐫𝐭 𝐂𝐲𝐫𝐮𝐬 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝐁. 𝐂𝐚𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐥, 𝐋𝐏𝐓. Dr. Cabral delivered a truly insightful presentation, and we are heartened by the fact that every college department gained valuable knowledge and actively shared their own expertise and takeaways during the session! This collaborative spirit is what drives change.

‎The program concluded with a heartfelt message in the Closing Remarks by 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐚 𝐄. 𝐁𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚, 𝐋𝐏𝐓, 𝐌𝐀𝐄𝐧𝐠, who extended sincere appreciation to every attendee, speaker, and organizing committee member for their time, participation, and unwavering commitment to making the campaign a success.

‎We extend a special recognition to 𝐌𝐬. 𝐑𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐃𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧 of the College of Tourism and Hospitality Management and also one of the CGEAD Advocate, who skillfully led the program as our dynamic Master of Ceremony. Her excellent leadership and seamless coordination ensured the entire seminar flowed smoothly and professionally!

The 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (CGEAD) Office spearheaded a transformative session at the recent Student-Leader and Teacher-Advisers Assembly, A.S.C.E.N.D. 2025, held on November 26 at the San Pablo Convention Center.

This focused contribution ensures that our leaders are equipped not just with knowledge, but with the tools to champion true gender equality and create a safe, respectful space across our campus community.

CGEAD Advocate, Mr. Jhuncel Manalo Deriquito, of the College of Arts and Sciences, led a crucial discussion that covered:

• 𝗘𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗚𝗘𝗔𝗗 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀: Detailing the mechanisms available for reporting, counseling, and support for gender-related concerns.

• 𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗗 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗺 𝗢𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼. 𝟯, 𝘀. 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟮: Providing clarity on the institutional mandate for integrating GAD in higher education.

• 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗮 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗮 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 (𝗥𝗔 𝟵𝟳𝟭𝟬): Highlighting the comprehensive human rights of Filipino women and the state's responsibilities to eliminate discrimination.

• 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝗰𝘁 (𝗥𝗔 𝟭𝟭𝟯𝟭𝟯): Emphasizing the protection against gender-based sexual harassment in public spaces, educational institutions, workplaces, and online.
