NEWS: SPC unveils its 80th Founding Anniversary Logo

SPC MAIN CAMPUS — The 80th anniversary logo of SPC was unveiled on September 22 as SPCians gathered to celebrate the institution's achievements and milestones.

“80 years tells us where we have been, our legacy tells us what we have accomplished, but our next chapter will tell us what we choose to become.” With these words from Vice President for Academics and Research, Dr. Jocelyn A.C. Barradas, San Pablo Colleges officially marked the start of its celebration of 80 years of continued service.

“Solid as Oak. Rooted in Gratitude, Eight Decades of Greatness”, the new logo carries this mantra to encapsulate the SPC’s Oak Jubilee celebration. To commemorate this milestone, Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Carmela Maria Cielito M. Eala, reminded everyone of the school’s recent accomplishments, including the newly built gymnasium, SPC’s hosting of PRISAA, and its ISO certification.

Prof. Eala also assured the SPC community that this academic year would be filled with events and activities for all SPCians. She mentioned Collegiate Week, Fun Run, and concert as just some of the events that the students must anticipate for the upcoming months.

Aside from the logo, an official theme song for the 80th anniversary was also composed by Sir Hansel, with lyrics written by Dr. Bernard C. Lunar. The SPC Chorale showcased their skills through the song, adding a musical highlight to the event.

Other SPCian groups also displayed their talents during the celebration, with the Ravens Dance Varsity and SPC Showband taking part in the festivities as a tribute to this milestone
College President Dr. Ma. Socorro M. Eala looked toward the years ahead, expressing optimism for what lies beyond SPC’s 80th year.

“Expect our 80 years and beyond to be brighter and better as we expect a new horizon,” Dr. Eala said, closing the celebration with a message of hope for the school’s continuing journey.

"Bayan o sarili?"

— General Antonio Luna

The choice was never easy, yet they chose the nation. Not all heroes wore capes—some wore barongs, held bolos, or carried a quiet, unbreakable dream of freedom in their hearts. They traded their everyday lives for a noble cause, laying down their tomorrows so we could have our today.
History isn't just found in dusty textbooks; it lives in the fire of those who chose courage over fear.

Today, we don't just echo their names. We awaken their fire. Because the true monument to a hero isn't made of bronze or marble; it is built in the courage we show when our own times demand it.
Remember that the revolution was never just a moment in time, it is a torch passed down to our hands.

Happy National Press Freedom Day!

Today, August 30, we commemorate National Press Freedom Day in honor of Marcelo H. Del Pilar or through his pen name Plaridel, praised as the Father of Philippine Journalism.

As we celebrate this day, may we continue to uphold press freedom and stand in defense of journalists’ rights to report freely, critically, and independently.

History is not just remembered, it is lived and carried forward. Today, we honor the life and legacy of Former Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. As we reflect on his famous words, "The Filipino is worth dying for," may his unwavering faith in the Filipino people continue to inspire us to serve with integrity and truth. 🇵🇭

The Viewpoint will always stand with the truth and fight for the unheard as we continue to refuse letting reality be silenced.

On this Day of Valor, we take a moment to remember the strength of those who came before us, those who faced uncertainty, hardship, and sacrifice with unwavering courage. Their stories are not just written in history books, but in the freedom we experience today. They remind us that even in the most difficult times, the human spirit has the power to endure and rise.

May their bravery inspire us to live with the same sense of purpose and integrity. In our own quiet battles and everyday struggles, may we find the courage to stand firm, to choose what is right, and to keep moving forward. As we honor their legacy, let us also strive to become individuals who embody resilience, compassion, and a deep love for our country.

He is risen! 🤍

On this blessed Easter Sunday, we are reminded that even in the face of darkness, despair, and uncertainty, hope prevails and new life begins. The resurrection calls us to reflect on our own journeys, our struggles, our doubts, and the moments that have tested our faith. Yet, through it all, we are given the assurance that renewal is always possible.

May this sacred day inspire us to rise above our fears, to strengthen our faith, and to embrace a life filled with purpose, compassion, and grace. Let us carry His light within us and allow it to guide our actions and shape our hearts. As we celebrate His victory, may we also be moved to grow, to forgive, and to become better for ourselves and for others.

Together, let us walk forward with renewed hope, trusting that His resurrection is not only a promise of eternal life, but also a reminder that we, too, can rise and transform.

A day of stillness, where grief rests and hope quietly grows.

Black Saturday, also known as Sábado de Gloria, marks the time when Jesus rested in the tomb following His crucifixion. It is a solemn day of reflection, sorrow, and silent anticipation before the joy of the Resurrection. This day reminds us that in life, there are moments when we must pause when clarity has not yet come and hope feels far away. Black Saturday teaches us that faith is not only present in times of joy and fulfillment, but also in patiently waiting and trusting in God’s promises.

While the day is observed in quiet reflection, it concludes with the Easter Vigil in the evening, celebrating the return of light and the hopeful anticipation of Jesus’ resurrection.

May this Black Saturday inspire us to remain steadfast in faith, patient in waiting, and hopeful in God’s perfect plan.
