Cheers and yells filled the air and our frontline players ignited the spirit of competition by lighting the torch and Council representatives and advisers proudly hoist their team banners with pride and enthusiasm.

The motivational message from Mr. Houston Greenlee, highlights athletic determination, camaraderie, discipline and sportsmanship.

The formal declaration of the sports competition was initiated by our esteemed School Principal, Mrs. Marilou P. Pasalo, wherein she emphasized the spirit of athleticism and teamwork is alive and thriving. 🏆🔥

“Stay humble and hustle hard.”

Thus, stressed Retired Sergeant First Class (SFC) of the US Army and Program Director of Hustlers Grind Junior, Mr. Houston Greenlee, in his speech as the Guest of Honor and Speaker during the opening of Intramurals 2026 of Bingao National High School held at the covered court, August 15.

Greenlee underscored that true victory in any athletic competition lies not merely in winning, but in demonstrating humility in victories and taking failures as opportunities to learn, adapt, and grow stronger. He also emphasized the importance of sports in character building.

Meanwhile, every grade level enthusiastically performed their cheers and yells which added to the festive atmosphere of the event. The Grade 12 Violet Blazers bagged the championship award.

Mrs. Marilou P. Pasalo, School Principal I, formally opened the said event and emphasized that while competition brings out the desire to win, the true essence of the event lies in fostering camaraderie and learning to respect one's peers, reminding everyone that they may be opponents in sports events but they should remain as one school community.

Moreover, Mr. Dexter B. Curimao, the adviser of PE & Sports Club, expressed his gratitude to the coaches, teachers, School-Parents Teachers Association (SPTA) led by Mrs. Fely M. Barayuga, LGU and barangay officials, and other stakeholders for being united in showing their support to make this year’s Intramurals a success.

“Transforming the Art and Heart of Sportsmanship: Inspiring Excellence in Action,” is the theme of this year’s Intramurals.

The GuiPeA was established in 2012, as a vibrant ensemble composed of student performers passionate about rondalla music, ethnic instrumentation, and folk and indigenous dances. Guided by its mission to safeguard and promote Filipino culture, the guild serves as a living testament to the school’s commitment to cultural safeguarding. As cultural ambassadors, its members uphold the vision of a thriving, evolving Filipino identity—one that honors the past while inspiring future generations to celebrate and protect it.

BNHS, nakiisa sa provincewide earthquake drill

Upang higit na mapatibay ang kahandaan sa lindol ng mga mag-aaral, ang Bingao National High School ay nakiisa sa Provincewide Schools Simultaneous Earthquake Drill, Hulyo 30.

Batay sa Executive Order No. CAM 074-26 na inilabas sa tanggapan ng Gobernador ng Ilocos Norte, lahat ng pampubliko at pribadong paaralan sa elementarya at sekondarya ay inaatasang makilahok sa aktibidad.

Matapos marinig ang bell na tumagal ng isang minuto, isinagawa ng mga mag-aaral ang duck, cover at hold.

Pagkatapos ng bell ay agad pumunta ang mga mag-aaral sa evacuation area doon isinagawa ng mga g**o ang head counting.

Agad namang pumunta sa mga klasrum ang search and rescue team upang kunin ang mga nasugatan at nasaktan. Nang sila ay makuha na ay agad silang nilapatan ng paunang lunas ng medical team.

Inapula naman ng firefighting team ang nasusunog na bahagi ng isang klasrum.

Matapos ang masusing pagsusuri ng assessment team sa mga gusali at silid-aralan, idineklara nilang ligtas ang mga klasrum at bumalik na ang mga mag-aaral sa kanilang silid.

“Naniniwala akong naging matagumpay ang drill na ito sapagkat nakita ko na seryoso ang mga mag-aaral sa pagsasagawa ng drill at mabilis ngunit maingat ang mga aksiyon ng ating school emergency response team”, saad ni G. Carlo Jestoni F. Gagarin, school DRRM coordinator ng paaralan.
