"Science of liquids"

This scientific observation demonstrates how different liquids interact based on their chemical properties. Water and cooking oil remain completely separate because nonpolar oil repels polar water, causing the oil to layer on top. Introducing water-based watercolor paint selectively colors the water layer while ignoring the oil, though over-saturation can obscure the distinct oil droplets. In contrast, water and rubbing alcohol are completely miscible and blend perfectly, though the alcohol's chemical nature will quickly immobilize and kill any live microscopic specimens present.

Remember: Oil separates, watercolor blends, and rubbing alcohol mixes but dries quickly. Science is everywhere—even in simple liquids!"
