Capping off the English Festival and National Reading Month 2025, Godofredo M. Tan Integrated School of Arts and Trades hosted an electrifying Spelling Bee that tested wit, focus, and vocabulary mastery.
Four composite teamsโeach composed of one student from Grades 7, 8, 9, and 10โbattled through rounds of easy, average, and challenging words, proving that teamwork and linguistic skill go hand in hand.
Ending the celebration with a Spelling Bee underscores the festivalโs mission: to make language learning fun, competitive, and collaborative. This event not only sharpens spelling and comprehension but also builds confidence and camaraderie among students across grade levels, reinforcing the idea that words are powerful tools for success.

Maโam Renaflor Lavado of White Cliff National High School and Maโam Christine Joy Iglip of Saint Josephโs High School captivated ARAL Program learners with stories that resonated deeply, offering relatable experiences and valuable life lessons.
Mystery Reader sessions do more than entertain; they create anticipation, foster a love for reading, and connect students with mentors who inspire through storytelling. By hearing real voices share meaningful narratives, learners discover that books are bridges to empathy, imagination, and wisdom, reinforcing the festivalโs mission to make reading a lifelong habit.

Continuing the excitement of the English Festival and National Reading Month 2025, Godofredo M. Tan Integrated School of Arts and Trades staged the Living Pages: Book Character Parade and Modeling, a dazzling showcase of creativity and storytelling. Pair representatives from Grades 7 to 10 transformed into beloved literary figuresโGrade 7 embodied Don Juan and the mystical Ibong Adarna, Grade 8 soared as Peter Pan and Tinker Bell, Grade 9 honored Filipino heritage with Malakas and Maganda, and Grade 10 cast a spell as Glinda and Elphaba from the world of Oz.
This event is more than a parade, itโs a celebration of imagination and cultural literacy. By stepping into the shoes of iconic characters from Philippine and world literature, students deepen their appreciation for stories that shape identity and values. Featuring activities like this ensures that reading remains vibrant and relevant, inspiring learners to see literature not just as text, but as living art that connects generations.
