Ayon sa anunsyo ng Komisyon ng Wikang Filipino, ang tema ng Buwan ng Wika ngayong taong ito ay sumasalamin sa pakikiisa ng ahensya sa isinasagawang 2021 Quincentennial Commemorations in the Philippines (2021 QCP). “Nararapat na sumasalamin sa Pilipinong pananaw at nagbabantayog sa pag-unawa at damdámin ng pagmamalaki sa ating mga ninuno at mayamang pamanang kultural sa porma ng panitikan, wika, mga sining, at ibá pang manipestasyong kultural. Nararapat ding bigyang-diin nitó ang Pilipinong Identidad at halagáhan ukol sa pagkakaisa, kahinahunan, at kalayaan,” paliwanag ng KWF.
