In line with the announcement of San Miguel Mayor B**g Alvarez through the Kasama Ka Sa Kaunlaran - Bayan ng San Miguel page, face-to-face classes from Kindergarten to Senior High School in San Miguel, Bulacan are suspended on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, due to continued heavy rains brought about by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), prioritizing the safety and well-being of all learners, teachers, and school personnel.

In view of the suspension, DepEd schools, VRSHS included, shall implement 𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗬 (𝗘𝗮𝘀𝗲-𝗜𝗻), consistent with DepEd’s Education in Emergencies (EiE) Policy under DepEd Order No. 014, s. 2026. Learning shall continue through appropriate flexible arrangements, including Alternative Delivery Modality (ADM), with academic workload adjusted based on the situation to ensure meaningful learning while minimizing stress.

Learners and parents/guardians are encouraged to stay safe and dry, prioritize their well-being, and continue monitoring official school and LGU announcements for verified updates.

The School DRRM Team of Vedasto R. Santiago High School conducted an online meeting on August 23, 2026, at 1:00 PM via Google Meet to discuss the preparations and coordinated implementation of the Nationwide Simultaneous School Safety Drill for Active Attack Incidents. The discussion was led by Mrs. Jennet A. Manalo, School Principal IV, and Mr. Bonifacio P. Dela Cruz Jr., School DRRM Coordinator, with Mr. Jim M. Bruit facilitating the meeting.

The meeting was attended by members of the School DRRM Team, including department heads and department head-designates, the Curriculum Chairpersons, the Senior High School Focal Person, and the School Clinic Teacher. The meeting served as a venue for strengthening coordination, clarifying roles and responsibilities, and ensuring that the school’s preparedness and response measures are aligned with the DepEd OSEC Memorandum on the Conduct of Nationwide Simultaneous School Safety Drill for Active Attack Incidents. Through collective preparedness and coordinated action, the school continues to uphold its commitment to ensuring a safe and secure learning environment for all.

‎The Philippines commemorates 𝐍𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐲 𝐀𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐃𝐚𝐲 today, August 21, remembering former senator 𝐵𝑒𝑛𝑖𝑔𝑛𝑜 "𝑁𝑖𝑛𝑜𝑦" 𝐴𝑞𝑢𝑖𝑛𝑜 𝐽𝑟. and the role he played in the country’s history.

‎The celebration gives Filipinos a chance to look back on Ninoy’s 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘦, 𝘴𝘢𝘤𝘳𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘦, and 𝘧𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘥𝘦𝘮𝘰𝘤𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘺. His story remains a reminder of how important 𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘰𝘮, 𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺, and 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘶𝘱 for what is right can be.

‎Today, Filipinos honor his memory and reflect on the values he stood for. Ninoy Aquino’s story continues to be remembered as an important part of the Philippines’ journey toward democracy and freedom.

In view of this, DepEd schools, VRSHS included, shall implement 𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗬 (𝗘𝗮𝘀𝗲-𝗜𝗻), consistent with DepEd’s Education in Emergencies (EiE) Policy under DepEd Order No. 014, s. 2026.
