Buhay Mendoza Art Workshop

My students in 2015 are from STC QC. This was the time I'm teaching art in Banawe QC.

Megan is a Grade 7 student from Candelaria Quezon, a hardworking student and a talented artist. She was my student last 2024 when I had my workshop in Candelaria Quezon.

About the Art Teacher/Mentor:

Self-taught artist Buhay Mendoza creates painting of people, food, memories and daily life. He studied at Centro Escolar University. He pursued a Bachelor of Science in commerce, but his love for art took him in a different direction. He created his own distinct painting style and method with the aid of art books and other artists.

Mendoza worked as a graphic artist and illustrator for five years before turning a full-time artist as a painter. He created back drop, props, and mock-ups for films and advertisements. His ability to express stories visually improved as a result of this encounter. He had been teaching art to kids and adults in Manila since 2010. His advocacy to share his talent and teach kids and adults are one of his dreams in life.

Simple sketches of people he encounters or memories of events are frequently the beginning of his paintings. These photos turn into vibrant artworks that capture his own life, particularly his early years and the joyous times he enjoys with his son. Buhay is a practicing artist exhibiting his paintings in local and international galleries.

He currently lives and works in Tayabas, Quezon which inspires him to create and share his art to the community.

Ma'am Veronica Dumlao a Public School Teacher in Ilocos was a former student of mine. She's now a practicing visual artist too who exhibited her works in respectable galleries here in the Philippines and in the International Art Spaces.
