Ngayon ay ginugunita natin ang ika-164 na kaarawan ni Dr. Jose Rizal — isang dakilang bayani na gumising sa diwa ng sambayanan. Hindi lang siya bayani ng ating bansa, kundi isang huwaran ng tapang, katapatan, at pag-asa para sa mas magandang kinabukasan.

Habang inaalala natin ang kanyang buhay at mga ginawa, nawa'y magsilbing paalala ito na mamuhay nang may layunin, ipaglaban ang tama, at mahalin ang bayan gaya ng pagmamahal ni Rizal.

Ang Araw ng Kalayaan ng Pilipinas ay isang mahalagang pagdiriwang na ginaganap tuwing ika-12 ng Hunyo bilang paggunita sa proklamasyon ng kasarinlan ng bansa mula sa kolonyal na pamumuno ng Espanya noong 1898. Sa araw na ito, ipinapahayag natin ang ating taos-pusong pasasalamat sa mga bayaning nag-alay ng kanilang talino, lakas, at buhay para sa ikalalaya ng Inang Bayan. Isa itong paalala ng ating tungkulin bilang mamamayan na pangalagaan ang kalayaang kanilang ipinaglaban. Sa pagdiriwang ng ating kalayaan, nawa’y mapanatili natin ang diwa ng nasyonalismo at pagkakaisa para sa patuloy na pag-unlad ng bansa. Sa ganitong diwa, patuloy nating pairalin ang kalayaang may pananagutan para sa kapakanan ng sambayanang Pilipino.
