My Mom once told me that she walked into a room where a couple of friends were discussing her, they didn’t know she was there. She shook her head, smiled, and walked away. 🕊

My Mom also told me that she had a friend who talked bad about her, she never knew that Mom found out, Mom never mentioned it. She smiled and walked away from this friendship. 🕊

She told me she had family who chose to shift her out of their life because she stood up for herself for a change. And because she stopped crossing oceans for them when they would not even help her cross a bridge. She smiled, shook her head and walked away. 🕊

So, I asked her how she could just walk away from people that betrayed her while pretending to be her friends or family? 🕊

She answered that every time she came to a crossroad like that, she had to decide who will be going forward on her journey with her. This showed her who she cannot take along with her. 🕊

So, she explained to me that you should never get mad at a person who betrays you, even in the name of friendship or family. Just gracefully bow out and enjoy your journey with all the new people God puts in their place. 🕊

KNOW YOURSELF

Know yourself they say
and don’t be led astray
but how can I know who I am
when I’m different every day?

Some days I’m the smart one
with the answers people need
and some days I’m the strong one
standing up to take the lead.

On other days I’m sure
that if the wind blew me too hard
I would shatter like a glass
into a million tiny shards.

And on those days I cower
and I hide out from the world
waiting on my inner child
to blossom and unfurl.

And each day I’m surprised
by the newness that I see
the things I’m finding out
the complexity of me.

So how to know yourself
when you’re all things rolled in one?
you simply must decide
to love whatever you become.

He is 85 and insists on taking his wife’s hand everywhere they go. When he was asked why his wife kept looking away, he responded, “because she has Alzheimer's”.

Then he was asked, will your wife worry if you let her go? He then replied, ′′she doesn't remember anything, she doesn't know who I am anymore, she hasn't recognized me for years.” Surprised, I said, “and you have continued to guide her every single day even though she doesn't recognize you?" 💞

The elderly man smiled and looked into my eyes and said, ′′she may not know who I am, but I know who she is, and she is the love of my life....
