Do you think it’s challenging to learn how to speak or even try to communicate in English? Do not worry, because I am here to assist you. My name is Maribeth, and I am an ESL Teacher. I have been using the English language as a way to communicate for almost my entire life, and I can say that I am familiar with it. I believe myself to be comforting and stable because I know how it feels to be self-

conscious about speaking a foreign language other than my native tongue. I am dependable for all my students and sometimes way too predictable because I also triumph with them for every milestone they achieve. I’m new as an ESL Teacher, but my vast experience working with almost all nationalities in the cruise industry helped me communicate effectively and confidently using English. My dyadic or interpersonal communications are excellent and tested while working with other colleagues who were all non-English speakers. I have a knack for organizational skills; therefore, I can adjust and adapt quickly to any classroom situations that may arise in the future. I believe having a happy, light, and peaceful learning environment is the key to encouraging students to learn the English language and enjoy taking the class. 🤔Imagine a world without a common language to speak. It must be confusing, right? Or even chaotic for some, if not many.

That's the reason why English is considered the Universal Language. People of different nationalities use it to communicate with others. In this modern world where technology is fast changing, the English language remains the common and constant medium of communication. There are about 1.13B people who speak English in the whole world.

There's no doubt that English is the universal language. It's spoken all over the world and it's the language of international business and communication. But some argue that English isn't the best choice for a universal language. They say that because English is a complex language with a lot of rules, it can be difficult for people to learn. A lot to remember, right? It made you wonder how can one remember all this to learn how to speak the English language or just learn basic English. This is a common misconception in studying the English language. Most students are either scared of failing or committing mistakes that they tend to feel self-conscious or shy to speak the English language.

Since English is considered the universal language, you can see that as early as 3 years old Toddler is enrolled in an English course. Sometimes you will be surprised that even babies have been enrolled by their parents in an English class. It's hard to believe but it is true. More and more parents enrolled their kids in an English class so their children will learn it and be exposed to the language for their children's future.

➡️Have you ever experienced speaking and felt like your tongue is rolling inside your mouth? Or you read a sentence or phrase that looks too simple, but when you say it aloud you realized that it was not? For example, the words that are called "tongue twisters".

According to Wikipedia, "Tongue twister is a phrase that is designed to be difficult to articulate properly and can be used as a type of spoken word game. It also uses to exercise one's pronunciation and fluency in the English language." These tongue twisters are a source of frustration and challenge to every student who is learning the language. It is not recommended to do this activity, but it will be a big help if you want to master the language. What's the use of knowing the language when you cannot say or pronounce it properly, right?

So let's try it. Say, "She sees cheese" five times.

❓How many words did you know that when you pronounce them, they sound the same, and yet they have different spellings and meanings? That's a bit confusing, right?

The English language is unique and sometimes challenging too. There are words that are confusing but sometimes entertaining. For example, when you hear someone saying "ship" and yet they mean "sheep". It's alright to make mistakes, but once in a while, you need to be conscious of it. A simple misunderstanding can arise from using a wrong choice of words. Things can blow out of proportion if incorrect verbs, tenses, and grammar are used to communicate. They say "words can kill", so it's better to use the right words and with care to become an effective speaker.

You can learn all these properly when you study the English language. There are levels of difficulty that you can choose from to start your lesson.

🏫The best place to meet new friends is in school or university. All nations and their citizens value education and humanity. Students are hungry for knowledge. They wanted to explore the world and discover what life was ahead of them. Learning is fun and exciting when you meet new friends and know them well.

The only thing that will stop them from making it happen is the language to communicate with. Each nation has its own mother tongue, and most are unfamiliar with the English language.

ESL or English as Second Language is a big help to solve the said issues. In fact, ESL was designed to help the non-English speaker to learn the language with ease and have fun while learning. Have you ever wondered what is the most spoken language in the world?🤔 Why people are using it more than other languages? Why is it famous or how many people are using it?

You might not know it, but there are more than 7,000 languages spoken in the world today. And while many people speak one or two of those languages, English is actually the most common language in the world.

According to World Atlas, the number one most spoken language is English. There are more than 1.13 Billion people who speak English. And it is considered the language of international business.

Many centuries ago, when England was trading and colonizing other countries, they encountered communication problems. To continue their progress, they sent their teachers outside the country to teach people how to speak the English language and govern their trading and colonization. ESL or English as Second Language did not begin immediately but for another 200 years later.

What is ESL? How does it work? 🤔
ESL, or English as a Second Language, is a program that teaches the English Language to the non-English speaker. And to those who live in a country where English is the official language spoken.

History says that the teaching of ESL started as early as the 15th century in England. At that time, the British Empire was expanding its trading and colonization. They needed to communicate with those they were trading business with. That's when the English language became the common language. But it was a few centuries later when the formal lesson took place. And another hundred years before the British started sending teachers outside England to teach the English language and govern their colony.
