Who is the saint the faithful turn to when something precious has been lost, whether an item or even hope itself?

St. Anthony of Padua is a saint with a host of miracles associated with him. He is the patron of lost things as well as those who are lost themselves. Today, June 13, the Church celebrates his feast day in honor of his life and legacy.

St. Anthony serves as a patron for a variety of groups and the needs of his people. He is the patron saint of the poor, due to his lifelong dedication to their welfare. Families seek his help in protecting their interests while also offering guidance on difficult issues.

His feast day invites the faithful to reflect on the great virtues that he practiced, including humility, charity, obedience, and steadfast faith. His enduring influence comes from his approachable humanity and his significant impact on the lives of countless followers of Christ.

May this day dedicated to St. Anthony of Padua remind us that nothing is ever truly lost when we place our trust in God. His life of faith and service calls us to be instruments of hope, compassion, and love in the world around us.

St. Anthony, help us to find Christ in all things. 🙏

𝗙𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗧 𝗗𝗔𝗬 | SOLEMNITY OF THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS

Today, June 12, we celebrate an important part of history—the 128th Independence Day, a remembrance of the courage, sacrifice, and love of those who fought for our nation’s freedom.

Yet beyond the victories of history, we are invited to look deeper into the very source of all freedom: 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀. His Heart is the wellspring of compassion, mercy, and unconditional love. It is in His Heart that we discover the meaning of true liberation, not only from oppression but from sin and despair.

As Cecilians, we continue to journey in faith during this Month of Faith, a time to strengthen our trust in God, renew our spiritual life, and commit ourselves to living out the Gospel in our daily actions. This journey finds its center in the Heart of Christ, which calls us to love as He loves and to serve as He serves.

The Sacred Heart reminds us that freedom is not only political or historical, but also profoundly spiritual. Real freedom is found in a heart formed by faith, a heart open to God, rooted in love, and committed to service.

May this solemnity inspire us, as Cecilians, to be people of faith and integrity, faithful to God, loving toward others, and responsible citizens of our nation.

𝟭𝟮𝟴 𝗡𝗔 𝗧𝗔𝗢𝗡 𝗡𝗚 𝗞𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗔𝗡: 𝗜𝗦𝗔𝗡𝗚 𝗕𝗜𝗬𝗔𝗬𝗔, 𝗜𝗦𝗔𝗡𝗚 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗡𝗦𝗜𝗕𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗗𝗔𝗗 🇵🇭

Hindi ipinanganak ang kalayaan sa katahimikan sapagkat ito’y isinilang sa tapang, sa dugo, at sa pangarap ng mga bayani.

Sa bawat pahina ng ating kasaysayan, may mga tinig na tumangging manahimik, may mga kamay na kumapit sa sandata ng pag-asa, at may mga puso na nag-alay ng lahat upang ang sambayanan ay muling makahinga ng malaya.

Noong ika-12 ng Hunyo, taong 1898, sa balkonahe ng tahanan ni Emilio Aguinaldo sa Kawit, Cavite, unang iwinagayway ang ating bandila. At sa unang pagkakataon ay itinugtog ng Banda San Francisco de Malabon ang “Marcha Filipina Magdalo,” bilang tanda na ang ating Inang Bayan ay nakalaya na mula sa mahigit tatlong siglo na paghahari ng mga Espanyol. Isang kasarinlan na bunga ng walang-sawang pakikibaka ng mga Bayani, at dahan-dahang pagmulat ng sambayanang Pilipino.

Ang ating kalayaan ay isang biyaya, at isang responsibilidad.

Ito’y biyaya na pinamana saatin ng ating mga ninuno, at tungkulin natin na panatilihin hanggang sa mga susunod na henerasyon.

Ngayong 128 na taon na ang nakalilipas, masasabi pa ba natin na tayo’y malaya pa, o mayroon nang manlulupig na sumasakal saatin?

Sa kasalukuyan, maraming balakid ang hinaharap ng ating bansa, at maraming pagkakataon na tila tayo’y nasa pamamahala parin ng mga dayuhan. Sa kabila nito, maraming Pilipino ang patuloy na nagta-trabaho, patuloy na tumitindig para sa tama, at nagsusumikap na mapalawak ang kanilang kaalaman tungkol sa mga pangyayari sa ating bansa. Ipinapakita nito ang diwa ng kalayaan, kung saan hindi lamang ito pinagaaralan sa paksang Araling Panlipunan, kundi ito ay kakayahan ng isang Pilipino na gamitin ang kanyang mga karapatan upang mag-ambag para sa kabutihan ng lipunan.

Sa ating pagdiriwang ng Araw ng Kalayaan, alalahanin natin ang katapangan ng mga Pilipinong nanindigan sa kabila ng pang-aapi at pananakot. Tandaan natin na ang araw na ito ay hindi lamang tagumpay sa nakaraan, subalit ito’y hamon sa kasalukuyan.

Kaya naman, tanungin natin ang ating mga sarili, “Ano nga ba ang magagawa ko para mapanatiling malaya ang Pilipinas?”
