Project BOAT: Bridging Opportunities and Accessible Transportation for Learners Officially Launched at Villa Miranda Integrated School

A significant milestone was marked at Villa Miranda Integrated School with the launching and ribbon-cutting ceremony of Project BOAT (Bridging Opportunities and Accessible Transportation for Learners), an initiative designed to provide safer and more accessible transportation for learners who cross the river every day to attend school.

The project was initiated through the efforts of Sir Rolando S. Dumlao Jr. together with Ma’am Ailene Mendoza and received the full support of the school administration headed by School Head Sir Jake Ryan B. Camba. Project BOAT aims to address one of the daily challenges faced by learners from Dibuluan Proper, who need to cross the river as part of their journey to and from school.

For these learners, crossing the river is not simply a routine trip. It is a daily challenge that they must overcome just to continue their education. Through Project BOAT, the school hopes to make their journey more accessible, convenient, and safer, especially during situations when river conditions make transportation difficult.

The launching ceremony was attended by members of the local government and community who showed their support for the project. Present during the event were Hon. Sally De Gracia, Hon. Jessica Martinez, Hon. Imelda Velasco, and Hon. B**g Bueno.

Also present to represent the active involvement of parents and the school community were PTA President Evelyn Pacleba and PTA Vice President Maricris Abrenilla.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony symbolized more than the inauguration of a transportation initiative. It represented a collective commitment to ensuring that geographical barriers do not prevent learners from reaching their classrooms and pursuing their dreams.

With the support of the school administration, teachers, parents, barangay officials, and the community, Project BOAT stands as a concrete example of how collaboration can create meaningful solutions to the challenges faced by learners in far-flung communities.

For the learners who cross the river every day, the project is more than just a boat. It is a bridge to opportunity, a means to education, and a testament to the community’s commitment to ensuring that every learner has a chance to reach school safely and continue learning.

Project BOAT: Bridging Opportunities, Building Access, and Bringing Learners Closer to Their Dreams.

Villa Miranda Integrated School actively participated in the recently conducted Earthquake Drill initiated by the DRRMO under the leadership of Sir Carlos Taguba. The activity aimed to strengthen the preparedness and responsiveness of both learners and school personnel during earthquake emergencies.

Following the drill, teachers attended a short briefing and hands-on demonstration on proper choking first aid, further enhancing their knowledge and readiness to respond to emergency situations.

Preparedness saves lives. Together, let us continue building a safer and more resilient school community.

Enrollment na bukas! See you mga batang Villa!
..
Kung ang dahilan ay dahil nasa baryo ang paaralan, tandaan: hindi ang lokasyon ng paaralan ang sukatan ng tagumpay, kundi ang sipag ng mag-aaral.
