Sandiat Team serves up a Winning Performance in Makan ken Mainum Contest

The newly-introduced Buwan ng Kabataan activity has found its first champion as Sandiat National High School emerged victorious in the Makan ken Mainum contest as part of the Annual Buwan ng Kabataan celebration in San Manuel, August 21.

Leading Sandiat squad to victory were Arghel Libunao, Dranreb Ferrer, and Ayi Omo, who represented the school with determination and enthusiasm. Guiding the team throughout the competition was their coach, Sir Edwin Casayuran, whose support and mentorship helped the students perform at their best.

After the competition, the schools were ranked as follows:

🏆 Champion — Sandiat National High School
🥈 1st Runner-Up — Malalinta National High School
🥉 2nd Runner-Up — OLPC-SMI

The event provided an exciting platform for the youth to come together, showcase their skills, and experience the value of working as a team. #

Grade 10 Trio secures a spot in QuiSKwela

The talents and creativity of the youth took the spotlight today as different secondary schools across the San Manuel District gathered for QuiSKwela, one of the youth-centered competitions held in celebration of the Annual Buwan ng Kabataan.

Among the participants who made a remarkable showing were Hera Morallos, Niegia Manmano, and Cherry Baldove, who clinched the 1st Runner-Up spot after showcasing their skills and teamwork during the competition.

Meanwhile, the competition also showcased the talents of other participating schools, with OLPC-SMI taking the Champion title and Sta. Cruz Integrated School securing 2nd Runner-Up.

The trio's achievement came as they demonstrated teamwork, confidence, and dedication throughout the competition. Their preparation and commitment, coupled with the guidance of their coach, Sir Jomar Fabros, helped them deliver a performance worthy of recognition. #

Manibog wins Poster Making Contest, champions Breastfeeding Awareness in San Manuel

Creativity and advocacy took center stage as King Andy D. Manibog emerged as the champion of the Poster Making Contest in celebration of Buwan ng Kabataan 2026 and National Breastfeeding Awareness Month, at the Legislative Building, San Manuel Municipal Compound, August 21.

Manibog’s winning piece stood out for its creative presentation and powerful message, effectively portraying breastfeeding as an essential part of promoting the health and well-being of both mother and child.

More than a competition, the activity served as a platform for youth participation in health promotion. It demonstrated how the creativity of the younger generation can be harnessed to communicate messages that matter to families and communities.

The event was an initiative of the Local Government Unit of San Manuel through the Municipal Health Office, in coordination with the Local Youth Development Office. #

Uy secures First Place in the HISTOPOP POPDEV Challenge

Princess Allen B. Uy made her mark at the San Manuel District Festival of Talents 2026 after securing First Place in the HISTOPOP POPDEV Challenge held today at Callang National High School.

Armed with knowledge, confidence, and determination, Uy rose to the challenge and delivered a standout performance that made her the champion in the competition.

Following her victory, Uy qualified for the LD5 level, giving her the opportunity to advance and represent the district in the next stage of the competition.

Through the guidance and encouragement of her coach, Ma'am Gigi Leonor J. Felicano, Uy was able to approach the challenge with greater confidence and readiness. #

SNHS seizes Overall Championship in Athletics

SAN MANUEL, ISABELA — Sandiat National High School emerged as the Overall Champion in Athletics (Secondary Boys) during the District Palaro held on August 5–7 in San Manuel Athletics Oval after showcasing remarkable performances across various track-and-field events.

The SNHS boys’ team dominated the track events, led by Ronald Salvador, who sprinted to double gold in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes.

Salvador was joined by Jerome Gualon, who clinched gold in the 400-meter run, while Dave Baliao ruled the 800-meter event. Vincent Navarro completed the team’s impressive distance-running campaign by securing gold in both the 1,500-meter and 3,000-meter runs.

Adding to SNHS’s medal haul, John Shervin Balmes captured silver in the 800 meters, while John Louie Bonifacio finished second in the 3,000 meters.

“Simple lang naman, nag-ensayo lang ako nang nag-ensayo,” Salvador said after his victories in the 100-meter and 200-meter events.

In the field events, Jaymiel Caddauan delivered another stellar performance, striking gold in both the shot put and discus throw. Justine Lampitoc also contributed to the team’s medal tally after taking silver in the shot put.

The SNHS boys further displayed their speed and teamwork in the relay events, winning gold in the 4x400-meter relay and securing silver in the 4x100-meter relay. The SNHS girls’ relay team also brought home gold in the 4x100-meter relay.

Meanwhile, the SNHS girls continued to make their mark in the field events, securing bronze in the girls’ javelin throw.

With a strong combination of determination, athletic ability, teamwork, and rigorous training, SNHS athletes outperformed their rivals and ultimately secured the Overall Championship.

Their impressive medal haul not only highlighted individual excellence but also underscored the strength and unity of the SNHS delegation throughout the three-day athletics competition.

Dable checkmates Rivals, Valdez claims Silver

With calculated moves, sharp tactics, and unwavering focus, Lance Dable outplayed his rivals to capture the gold medal in Standard Chess Boys, while Arnel Valdez secured the silver in the District Palaro Chess competition held at Callang National High School, August 7.

Dable displayed composure and strategic brilliance throughout the tournament, making crucial moves that helped him secure the top spot. Valdez followed closely as he showed strong board discipline and determination, finishing the competition in second place. With their win, they both secured their spot in the LD Meet.

Lance Dable, Arnel Valdez and Denver Frias also claimed first place in the Boys Team event.

Meanwhile, in the Girls’ division, Alexa Felicano, Kyla Acebedo and Yhanie Matias teamed up to secure third place in the Standard Chess Girls Team event. They remained focused as they battled through the competition, earning a spot through their steady play and teamwork.

The strong finishes of the chess players highlighted not only their skills on the board but also their patience, discipline, and ability to make decisive moves under pressure. #

Sandiatenians shuttle to victory, claim SMD Palaro Championship

Sandiatenians smashed through its municipal rivals to capture the overall championship in the SMD Palaro Badminton Tournament, held August 4-7 at the Callang National High School Gymnasium.

SNHS produced a commanding six-medal haul — three gold, two silver and one bronze — to shut out the other contending schools in San Manuel and claim the championship.

SNHS controlled the women’s division from the opening of the game. Sophia Amirah Rosario captured the girls singles gold, while teammate Veronica Alvarez secured the silver. Callang National High School and Eden Integrated School shared the bronze medals.

SNHS continued its surge in girls doubles, where Marjorie Balderamos and Jameah Sarmiento defeated CNHS in the championship match to take the gold. The host school settled for silver.

The results highlighted SNHS’ depth, composure and preparation in the women’s bracket.

“We trusted our training and stayed focused in every match,” Coach Jeanne M. Baloran said. “Our players showed discipline, teamwork and determination, especially during the close rallies," she added.

Meanwhile, the boys singles through Lordwin Ganzagan battled to the silver medal behind the champion from OLPC-SMI while his teammate Shawn Rosario added a bronze for SNHS.

SNHS also struck gold in boys doubles as John Dave Gregorio and Alexander Javier overwhelmed the CNHS pair in the finals. CNHS claimed the silver.

The competitive men’s bracket tested the players’ endurance and consistency, with SNHS emerging among the tournament’s strongest programs.

“We knew the men’s matches would be difficult, so we focused on every point,” Ganzagan said. “The team encouraged us throughout the tournament, and that helped us finish strong,” he added.

OLPC-SMI claimed the gold, while Nueva Era National High School earned the silver. SNHS’ bronze finish in the mixed doubles helped secure the school’s decisive advantage in the overall standings.

"Winning the overall title against our municipal rivals shows the discipline, teamwork and determination of our team," Coach Jeanne said.

The championship marked a significant victory for SNHS in San Manuel’s competitive school badminton scene. With its dominant women’s campaign, strong showing in the men’s events and six total medals, SNHS established itself as the team to beat heading into future competitions. #

SNHS Volleyball Teams reach Finals

Sandiat National High School’s boys’ and girls’ volleyball teams delivered strong performances, reaching the finals in their respective categories, August 7.

The Sandiat boys opened their campaign with a strong performance defeating OLPC-SMI that propelled them into the championship match against Callang National High School. Despite a hard-fought battle, Callang emerged victorious.

Meanwhile, the Sandiat girls also secured a win against OLPC-SMI's volleyball girls, earning a spot in the finals against Callang National High School. Callang once again claimed victory in the championship showdown.

Although both Sandiat squads fell short in the finals, their impressive runs showcased their determination, teamwork, and fighting spirit throughout the competition.

SNHS Basketball 3x3 Boys, aabante sa LD Meet

Nangibabaw ang Sandiat National High School laban sa Malalinta National High School sa katatapos na 3x3 Basketball Boys Finals sa Sandiat East Community Center, Agosto 7. Nasungkit ng SNHS ang kampeonato matapos talunin ang kanilang katunggali sa iskor na 18–11.

Nagpaulan ng three-point shots si Jerome Peralta sa semi-final game, na naging susi sa kanilang panalo kontra Callang National High School. Nagtapos ang laban sa iskor na 13–10.

Ipinamalas naman nina Mark Jun Mariano at Tristan Jay Rigor ang kanilang husay sa ilalim ng ring sa pamamagitan ng matatag na depensa. Dahil dito, nakapagtala sila ng maraming rebounds, blocks, at steals sa semi-final at final games.

Malaki rin ang naging ambag ni MJ Rodel Ramos sa finals sa pamamagitan ng kanyang mga lay-up laban sa Malalinta National High School. Nagtala rin siya ng ilang blocks na tumulong upang maselyuhan ng SNHS ang kanilang kampeonato at ang puwesto sa paligsahan.

Samantala, nabigo naman ang SNHS 5v5 Basketball Boys matapos matalo sa kanilang unang laro laban sa Callang National High School noong Agosto 5 sa CNHS Gymnasium. Nagtapos ang laban sa iskor na 48–29.
