Many know her as a jolly person, someone whose laughter comes easily. However, beneath that joy is a deeper truth: her jolliness is rooted in peace, the kind that grows from acceptance, faith, and a heart that chooses calm despite the storms.

Peace, to Mrs. Lizette Simon Ramos, is much like those lyrics describe โ not the absence of challenge, but a calm that embraces the heart in its hardest moments. She learned that tranquility is born not when life grows easy, but when one chooses to be still amid struggle, to breathe deeply before responding, and to lead with gentleness even when storms swirl around her. For her, peace became a way of living โ a steady presence in the classroom, a quiet example for young minds, and a reminder that true calm grows from courage, compassion, and steadfast resolve.
One of her most personal challenges is her marriage of 15 years without having children. Initially, this brought feelings of frustration and incompleteness. She admits that there were moments of questioning God and sadness: โbakit hindi mo binibigay ganon, where actually kaya naming I-provideโ. However, through reflection, spiritual guidance, and a retreat where she had the chance to confess and pray, she realized that peace does not require everything to go according to plan. Accepting the present moment and trusting Godโs timing allowed her to let go of stress and embrace what she already hasโher students, her husband, and the meaningful work she does every day.
Through this acceptance, she discovered the sources of her true peace. She finds joy and calm in influencing others positively, especially her students. Seeing them smile, overcome challenges, and apply lessons in their lives gives her deep satisfaction. She explains that this ability to impact others brings her a sense of accomplishment and serenity: witnessing her students grow and thrive reinforces that her efforts are meaningful and her heart is at peace.
In her classroom, she actively fosters a sense of calmness and support. She ensures that lessons are understandable and approachable, creating an environment where students can learn without added stress. She views herself as a source of rest and encouragement, helping her students navigate both academic challenges and personal struggles. By making learning manageable and relatable, she brings peace into their daily lives, letting them feel supported and valued.
Even in stressful moments, she maintains a positive perspective. She talks to others, reflects on the bright side, and sees challenges as opportunities to grow stronger. Her resilience allows her to uplift those around her, ensuring that her stress does not affect others, and she finds joy in small acts of kindness and moments of connection.
During Advent, Lizette believes peace can extend beyond the classroom. She says, โWe must open our heartsโฆ kasi I believe that with that you can able to light the light.โ Opening hearts, practicing patience, showing gratitude, and reflecting before reacting are ways to bring serenity to family and community life. She encourages everyone to pause, embrace acceptance, and focus on what truly matters, knowing that peace begins from within and radiates outward.
