Brief History of SAGA
The need to offer quality educational services grew in the advent of the full implementation of Republic Act 10533 also known as the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013 or the K to 12 Curriculum. During that time, there was no private secondary school that could fully offer the academic track and strands. Many among the townsfolk expressed their worries since the nearest schools that could provide alternatives to the young people of San Luis are outside the town. So as early as 2013, people started to inform some concerned citizens about the dilemma. Aloysius Gonzaga Academy. After taking into consideration all the areas of concern, and after careful evaluation and deliberation of the merits of the different facets of the issue, the incorporators made a bold move to put up a stand a school that could provide more educational options to the young people of San Luis. A stand-alone school is a branding for schools exclusively offering Senior High School only without other departments like Grade School, Junior High School and College. In 2014, after conducting a Comprehensive Study, in coordination with DepEd Schools in San Luis, in consultation with DepEd Officials of the Division of Pampanga and in collaboration with the K to 12 Technical Division in the DepEd Regional Office-Region III, the Team concluded that there is a need for:
a. an educational institution which is capable of providing quality education and options for students preferring to take up the Academic Track and Strands;
b. an educational institution that is at par with known private institutions, and a prime quality provider of educational services in the Town of San Luis; an educational institution that could help the Department of Education in ensuring that nobody will be left behind and that all Grade 10 Completers shall pursue Grades 11 and 12 in the K to 12 Curriculum;
c. an educational institution which is able to respond to the needs of K to 12 Curriculum and to help educate the people in striving for better opportunities to elevate the quality of living in the town;
d. an educational institution that may help minimize the expenses of parents and students particularly in their daily allowances if they choose to take academic track and strands;
e. an educational institution that shall soon become the only Higher Educational Institution in the town which shall provide college education. This shall as well become the first in the town and the only HEI to be put up since the founding of the town; and
f. St. Aloysius Gonzaga Senior High School as the educational institution in the heart of San Luis, Pampanga that will be the center for Academic Formation and Professional Studies.
