Rationale:
• Allow psychometricians for their own independent practice and expand their function
• Address MH gaps
• Provisions for a future-proof and aligned law towards internationalization

Key changes:
• Expanding the function of psychometricians to enable them to conduct mental health-related activities
• Changes of terminology and expanded definitions for more detailed explanation ie “Registered” Psychologist
• Renaming RPm to Registered Psychology Associate aligned to the functions
• Provision of plantilla position in government agencies for Registered Psychologists and Registered Psychology Associate
• Change in the term of office and composition under the constitution to 5 year term and 5 members, respectively

Transitory provisions highlights retroact of the changes in the provisions.

After series of consultations, House Rep represented by Dr. Bondoc suggested to REPEAL the law instead of AMENDING them due to major changes of provisions. Repealing doesn’t nullify the important keys of history but just a nomenclature, as added by Dr. Allan Bernardo.
