📍 On September 26, 2026, Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) – San Juan Campus ROTC Unit conducted its Regular Saturday Formation.
At 0500H, the Advance ROTC Officers assembled at the ROTC Unit Headquarters in preparation for the day’s activities.
At 0600H, the COQC underwent an inspection to assess their proper uniform, appearance, bearing, and overall readiness for the scheduled activities.
At 0730H, the formation officially commenced with the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, followed by the signing of attendance.
At 0800H, all ROTC Officers conducted practical instruction on the proper ex*****on of the “Harap-Harapan” and “Panig-Panigan” movements for the cadets and cadettes. The training focused on developing their proper coordination, discipline, bearing, and proficiency in military drill movements.
At 0900H, Cpl. Jhon Paul Gazo PA (RES) conducted a lecture on Military Organization, focusing on the structure, functions, roles, and responsibilities of different military units and personnel. After the lecture, the cadets and cadettes took an examination to assess their understanding and knowledge of the topics discussed.
The Medical Team, led by Romeo C. Bulacan, Head of EM-DRRM, conducted a lecture on Mass Casualty Incident (MCI), followed by a practical training session. The activity focused on enhancing the officers’ and cadets’ knowledge and skills in mass casualty management, proper assessment, emergency response, and basic rescue procedures.
At 1330H, Cpl. Rowel John O. Almasin (INF) PA conducted a practical training session on battle drills for the Officers and COQC, focusing on developing their knowledge, coordination, discipline, and proficiency in basic combat procedures.
A total of Eightysix (86) Basic Cadets and Cadettes, consisting of Seventeen (17) females and Sixty nine (69) males, participated in the formation. There were also Thirty-Two (32) ROTC Advanced Officers, consisting of Thirteen (13) First Class Officers, Twelve (12) males and One (1) female and Nineteen (19) Second Class Officers, Sixteen (16) males and Four (4) females.
The activities were led by the Battalion Commander, C/Col Marcian Kyle I. Mondala, 1CL, with the assistance of Cpl. Rowel John O. Almasin (Inf) PA. The activity was further supported by the Training Staff and GMA, namely Sgt. Hector R. Rivera PA (RES), Sgt. Jeslie Pia PA (RES), Cpl. Jhon Paul Gazo PA (RES), and Pvt. Eljay Mohal M. Gedy PA (RES). The entire activity was conducted under the supervision of the Commandant, CPT Julieto C. Degorio (MI) PA.
