On March 20, 2026, Southern Leyte State University – San Juan Campus ROTC unit conducted a Campus Clean-Up Drive as part of its commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy school environment.

‎ROTC officers, cadets, and cadettes began the clean-up activity at 1600H and continued until 1700H. They worked together to clean designated areas around the campus, collect waste, and promote proper waste disposal.

‎The activity strengthened the Students sense of discipline, teamwork, responsibility, and community service. It also demonstrated the ROTC Unit’s commitment to supporting the university and maintaining a clean and orderly campus.

On 19 August 2026, the San Juan ROTC Unit proudly took part in a blood donation drive, where officers and volunteers selflessly donated blood to support patients in need.

This meaningful initiative demonstrated the organization’s strong commitment to service, discipline, and compassion beyond the call of duty. The activity was made even more successful through the dedicated support of NSTP Coordinator Ms. Melissa B. Misoles, MAT, who actively managed and assisted the officers throughout the blood donation process.

Through this initiative, the San Juan ROTC Unit once again showed that true service goes beyond training—it is also about extending a helping hand and saving lives.

On 15 August 2026, Southern Leyte State University – San Juan Campus conducted the NSTP Orientation at the campus covered court.

The program opened with the signing of attendance, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and the SLSU Hymn.

The session included the formal introduction of the NSTP Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) and its facilitators from each department:
- Ms. Melissa B. Misoles – Secondary Education Department
- Mr. Michael M. Diaz – Industrial Technology Department
- Ms. Myla Gumanit and Mrs. Carla L. Bulacan – Information Technology and Accountancy Department
- Ms. Evan Rea L. Bolocon – Technology and Livelihood Education and Business Management Department
- Ms. Razel L. Sumaylo and Ms. Gilda R. Tumanda – Entrepreneurship Department

The NSTP Coordinator, Ms. Melissa B. Misoles, MAT, and the ROTC Coordinator, Kenneth G. Magabo, MSIT, delivered inspirational messages emphasizing the importance of NSTP, particularly the role of ROTC in developing discipline, leadership, service, and commitment among students.

The activity was conducted under the leadership of C/Col Marcian Kyle I. Mondala, 1CL, with the assistance of the training staff, Sgt. Hector Rivera, PA (RES), Sgt. Jeslie Pia, PA (RES), Cpl. Jhon Paul Gazo, PA (RES), Cpl. Junryl Puzon, PA (RES), Cpl. Devina Mae Verame, PA (RES), Cpl. John Carlo Buctot, PA (RES), and Pvt. Kengie Navos, PA (RES). The activity was also supported by the NSTP Coordinator, Ms. Melissa B. Misoles, MAT, and the ROTC Coordinator, Kenneth G. Magabo, MSIT.

On 12 August 2026, the ROTC Unit of San Juan Campus provided security and assistance to the SSC officers during the 1st General Assembly.

The program began with the signing of attendance, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and the SLSU Hymn.

The assembly aimed to orient students on university policies, introduce the newly appointed student leaders, and prepare the student body for the activities, programs, and responsibilities for the academic year ahead.

Under the leadership of C/COL Marcian Kyle I. Mondala 1CL, with the assistance of the Training Staff, Cpl Jhon Paul Gazo PA(RES), and Cpl Junryl Puzon PA(RES), the ROTC Unit successfully carried out its duties and contributed to the overall success of the event.

‎Southern Leyte State University – San Juan Campus officially welcomed its newest batch of freshmen as they began their college journey at SLSU.

‎The program opened with the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, followed by the Panatang Makabayan and the Panunumpa ng Lingkod Bayan, setting a meaningful and patriotic tone for the orientation.

‎Campus Director Danilo Escopido delivered the opening remarks, formally welcoming the freshmen to the university. In his message, he emphasized the value of education and encouraged students to strive for excellence in their chosen fields. He also reminded them not to hesitate to seek help whenever needed, to respect everyone within the campus community, and to build genuine and meaningful relationships with their classmates and instructors.

‎The orientation gave the freshmen a clearer understanding of the university’s academic expectations, campus services, and support systems, as well as the people who will guide and assist them throughout their college journey.
