โ€œEducation changes lives. I know this because I am living proof.โ€
โ€“ Dr. Roniel M. Macatol, Provincial Director, DTI Marinduque

Drawing from his own journey from an OMSC student to a Provincial Director of the Department of Trade and Industry, Dr. Roniel M. Macatol reminded the Class of 2026 that success is not defined by where one starts, but by the knowledge, character, and resilience built through education. He emphasized that OMSC helped shape his ambitions and expand his horizons, proving that education can break barriers and transform lives.

With confidence in the graduatesโ€™ potential, he expressed his belief that they, too, are poised to change not only their own futures but also the trajectory of their families for generations to come.

As he ends his speech, he labeled the Batch 2026 as the โ€˜Diamond Classโ€™ inspiring them not only to shine the brightest, but also to cut through the toughest challenges of time.

Highlighting the importance of pakikisama, humility, and kindness, he encouraged the graduates to work well with people from different walks of life, emphasizing that no great achievement is accomplished alone.

"People may admire your achievements, but they will remember your character."

A timely reminder that while achievements may open doors, it is integrity, respect, and trustworthiness that keep them open.

On April 27, 2026, OMSC (SJNHS) High School Batch 1972 returned to their alma mater for a heartfelt campus tour spanning the Murtha, Main, and San Jose campuses of Occidental Mindoro State College.

The tour was headed by Dr. Rosalinda C. Gomez, former Vice President for Academic Affairs, whose leadership and enduring connection to OMSC gave the event a special significance. A highlight of the day was their courtesy visit to the current VPAA, Dr. Norma B. Muyot, who warmly welcomed the alumni and engaged them in meaningful dialogue about the collegeโ€™s continuing academic journey.

At the Murtha Campus, the alumni were graciously received by Campus Director Dr. Nimfa B. Pastrana, who shared updates on the campusโ€™s growth and initiatives. Together, these encounters underscored the alumniโ€™s lasting bond with OMSC and their pride in witnessing the institutionโ€™s transformation over the decades.

The event showcased the alumni legacy, showing how Batch โ€™72 continues to inspire younger generations by honoring the past and witnessing the progress of the college they helped shape.

On April 27, 2026, alumni of Batch โ€™80 returned to Occidental Mindoro State College (San Jose National High School), carrying with them decades of memories and a shared sense of home. The reunion opened with a ceremony that balanced reverence and celebrationโ€”video presentations of the Prayer, National Anthem, and OMSC Hymn set a reflective tone, followed by dynamic student performances, including a vocal solo by Grade 12 student Santino Pablo and an energetic hip hop number by Grade 11 students.

More than a formal gathering, the event became a space where friendships were rekindled, stories found their voices again, and connections were renewed. For Batch โ€™80, the homecoming was not simply a returnโ€”it was a quiet affirmation that time may pass, but belonging endures.
