๐—”๐——๐—ฉ๐—œ๐—ฆ๐—ข๐—ฅ๐—ฌ | The continuation of the CGCI Intramurals 2026 scheduled for Thursday, August 20, 2026, is rescheduled in line with the implementation of alternative learning modes and learning continuity measures in Nueva Ecija pursuant to Malacaรฑang Memorandum Circular No. 131, dated August 19, 2026.

Following the directive of CGCI OIC President Maโ€™am Angelita Babasoro, the continuation of the Intramurals will be moved to a later date and venue, with further details to be released through an official announcement. | via Beiman Samonte/I-CORE

The Kโ€“6 Department of Core Gateway College, Inc. (CGCI) secured several podium finishes at the Cluster Schools Press Conference (CSPC) held at Home Academy on August 8, 2026, earning spots in the upcoming Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) 2026.

Competing against 11 participating schools, CGCIโ€™s young campus journalists performed strongly in both individual and group categories under the guidance of their coaches, Precious Mae Gabriel and Lady Kahren Valdez.

Leading the schoolโ€™s achievements was the Filipino Radio Broadcasting team, coached by Ms. Valdez, which claimed the overall championship in the group category. The winning team was composed of Kallistar Camil Garchitorena, Nakeisha Kaith Sorza, Caiden Zack Bisquera, Althea Drianna Fe Abelardo, Rheizchea Athena David, Reem Zainab Valeriano, and Vadd Kielle Garchitorena.

The team also showed its skills in individual events, with Vadd Kielle Garchitorena placing second in Sports Writing English and Jessica Tabios earning second place in Science and Technology Writing English, both under Ms. Valdezโ€™s guidance.

More second-place finishes came from Ms. Gabrielโ€™s delegates. Nakeisha Kaith Sorza placed second in News Writing English, Akio Babao secured second in Feature Writing Filipino, and Reem Zainab Valeriano earned second in Column Writing Filipino.

CGCI also added two third-place finishes to its tally. Benedict Emmanuel Aquino placed third in Science and Technology Writing English, while Amara Benisse Moleta took third in Editorial Cartooning English, both coached by Ms. Valdez.

The school also secured fourth-place finishes through Zelaida Darang in Editorial Cartooning Filipino, under Ms. Valdez, and Althea Drianna Fe Abelardo in News Writing Filipino, under Ms. Gabriel.

Rounding out CGCIโ€™s qualifiers were fifth-place finishers Jillian Fajardo in News Writing English, Jennilyn Velasco in Column Writing Filipino, Joseph Ben in Editorial Cartooning Filipino, and Macy Abalos in Editorial Cartooning English.

With their strong performance at the cluster level, CGCI Kโ€“6โ€™s qualifying campus journalists will move on to the DSPC 2026, with individual events scheduled for September 7 and group events on September 8. The official venue will be announced by the event organizers.

Pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 128, s. 2026, issued by the Office of the President, Malacaรฑang, and upon the recommendation of the NDRRMO, all classes are directed to shift to alternative learning mode on August 19, 2026, due to the continuous heavy rainfall brought by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).

In accordance with Executive Order No. 24, Series of 2026 issued by the Provincial Government of Nueva Ecija, face-to-face classes in all levels are hereby suspended tomorrow, August 18, 2026.

Alternative learning modes will be implemented to ensure the continuity of learning.

The advisory follows Memorandum Circular No. 127 issued by Malacaรฑang upon the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) and the Heavy Rainfall Warnings issued by PAGASA.

In line with this, CGCI Intramurals activities scheduled this afternoon are also postponed. The new schedule will be announced at a later date.
