LES Teachers Showered with Love on Teachers' Day

The faculty of Lawacamulag Elementary School (LES) received a wave of heartfelt gratitude yesterday, October 6, 2025, as the School Parents-Teachers Association (SPTA) and the Supreme Elementary Learner Government (SELG) officers hosted a memorable National Teachers' Day celebration.

Organized under the careful guidance of SELG Adviser Madam Josie Obiena, the event transformed the school grounds into a festival of appreciation for the LES educators.

The program was a true partnership among the students, parents and community. The SPTA officers, under the leadership of Mr. Pagaduan, and Brgy. Kagawads, Hon. Elena Villanueva and Hon. Randum Capiral sponsored a special fellowship meal for the teachers. Meanwhile, the SELG officers took the lead on the program, showcasing the students’ talents through an array of dance, and heartfelt messages dedicated to their mentors.

SELG President Quinie Padilla delivered a moving "Salute to Teachers," acknowledging their commitment beyond the classroom. The highlight was the presentation of personalized thank-you cards and small tokens, a small but meaningful gesture to recognize the teachers' noble profession.

This year, the celebration was made even more special, vibrant, and meaningful thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our Governor Christian Yap, Congresswoman Cristy Mayor Cristy Angeles and BM Arron Villaflor. Your gifts and support provided are more than just tokens of appreciation; they are powerful affirmations of the value our community places on education.

LES Principal Madam Herminia Caligagan expressed profound thanks to the student and parent bodies, as well as Madam Josie, for the collaborative effort. The celebration reinforced the strong community bond at Lawacamulag Elementary, demonstrating that the community’s appreciation for its teachers is as vital as the lessons they teach.

Lawacamulag Elementary School Kicks Off Groundbreaking Gender and Development Training for Teachers

Lawacamulag Elementary School embarked on a significant journey towards fostering a more gender-responsive learning environment today, as it officially commenced the first day of its comprehensive Gender and Development (GAD) training for its teaching faculty. The initiative aims to equip educators with the essential knowledge, skills, and perspectives needed to integrate gender equality principles into their teaching practices and classroom dynamics.

The opening session was marked by an air of anticipation and commitment as teachers gathered to delve into the core concepts of GAD. The training began with an insightful overview of fundamental GAD principles, setting the stage for deeper discussions on gender roles, stereotypes, and their impact on education. Participants engaged in interactive discussions, sharing their initial understanding and experiences related to gender in the school context.

The first day's agenda focused on foundational topics, including Fostering Ethical Workplaces, Integrating Moral Values and Gender Sensitivity for Inclusive Organizational Growth, Understanding Moral Values and Interconnection between Moral Values.

This initial phase of the GAD training is expected to lay a solid groundwork for teachers to develop more gender-sensitive teaching methodologies and to champion equality in their daily interactions with students, parents, and co-workers. Lawacamulag Elementary School looks forward to the continued progress and positive impact this training will have on its entire school community.
