Pursuant to 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐍𝐨. 𝟏𝟎𝟎𝟔, classes and office operations across all OMSU campuses are suspended this Friday, August 21, 2026, in observance of 𝐍𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐲 𝐀𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐃𝐚𝐲.‎ ‎

As we take this pause, the Supreme Student Government—San Jose Campus joins the nation in honoring the courage and legacy of former Senator Benigno "Ninoy" S. Aquino Jr.‎‎

We are reminded that Filipinos were worth dying for. It means choosing to use your education, talents, and voice to help your fellow Filipinos. As students, patriotism does not always require extraordinary acts. It can be seen in studying with purpose, serving the school community, speaking up when something is unfair, and becoming someone who can contribute to the country someday. ‎Pursuant to 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐦 𝐂𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐍𝐨. 𝟏𝟑𝟏 from the Office of the President, a 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤-𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦-𝐇𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 and 𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐬 shall be implemented across selected provinces, including Occidental Mindoro, tomorrow, 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟎, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, in preparation for the continued rainfall brought by the habagat.

The LGU of San Jose, Occidental Mindoro, has also confirmed the suspension of classes for all levels, both public and private, this Thursday. ‎In line with this, OMSU has released 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭'𝐬 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐍𝐨. 𝟑𝟑, 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, placing all OMSU campuses under hybrid learning modality, with a work-from-home arrangement for admin and academic units.

In accordance with 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐦 𝐂𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐍𝐨. 𝟏𝟐𝟗, which orders alternative work and learning arrangements in several areas nationwide, including Occidental Mindoro, due to the continued heavy rainfall brought by the enhanced Southwest Monsoon.

‎Following this, OMSU has also released President's Advisory No. 32, series 2026, putting all OMSU campuses under 𝐡𝐲𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐝 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰, 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟏𝟗, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔. A work-from-home arrangement is also implemented for admin and academic units.

Hon. Angelica Mae B. Dispo has officially taken her oath today, August 18, 2026, as the new 𝑺𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑹𝒆𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝑶𝒄𝒄𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒍 𝑴𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒐𝒓𝒐 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒚, a second Student Regent from the San Jose Campus for two consecutive years!

‎Her appointment shows just how important student voice really is in university governance, making sure the concerns and aspirations of every OMSUan get heard in the Board of Regents.

Earlier today, August 17, 2026, the 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 – 𝐒𝐚𝐧 𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬, together with the 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫'𝐬 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲, 𝐌𝐢𝐝𝐰𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, and 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲, along with their respective advisers, officially took their Oath of Office at the San Jose Campus Gymnasium after the Monday Ritual.

‎Dr. Maricris M. Usita, Campus Director, graciously led the oath-taking ceremony. After that, a warm welcome and reminder message from SAS Coordinator Ms. Paciencia C. Advincula was delivered, congratulating the student leaders.

‎To all the newly sworn-in officers from SSG—San Jose, YESo, MDO, and SSIT, congratulations and welcome to your new roles! May this term be full of growth, learning, and real service to your fellow OMSUans.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐒𝐒𝐆) 𝐒𝐚𝐧 𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 held its 𝐇𝐲𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐝 𝐓𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲 earlier today, August 14, 2026, 1:00 PM, formally passing the gavel, a symbol of leadership and responsibility, to the incoming set of officers.

Former SSG Adviser Mr. Arnold Jann L. Cariaso shared a meaningful message, leaving the officers in tears and inspired as they close this chapter.

Board Member Dana Mae F. Gabanan presented the Financial Report to everyone present, providing a clear look into the SSG's funds and utilization from the past term. Former Governor Marvin James L. Cruz followed with his report, which he entitled "𝐀𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐢𝐲𝐚𝐡𝐞: 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐫𝐮𝐳'𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭,” implying that student leadership is like maneuvering a vehicle—we, as leaders, take the wheel in delivering good service to our fellow students. Even though there are humps and turns along the way, still steady to reach the destination, which proves that service is for all. He also highlighted the essence of 𝐏𝐮𝐬𝐨 𝐬𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐭 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐢𝐬𝐲𝐨, reminding everyone that true service comes from the heart.

The newly elected Governor of Occidental Mindoro State University San Jose Campus, Hon. Angelica Mae B. Dispo delivered her Privilege Speech with a powerful reminder:

May every officer carry not the pride of position but the responsibility of service, leading not to be seen but to serve. On behalf of then-Governor Cruz, Former Board Member Meljohn Mateo then passed the gavel to Gov. Angelica, marking the symbolic turnover of responsibilities to the new administration.

Newly appointed SSG Adviser Mr. Genesis A. Ysibido also delivered his message, welcoming the incoming administration with words of encouragement and support for the term ahead.

Please be informed that, pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 124, a work-from-home arrangement for government offices shall be implemented on August 11, 2026 in the provinces of Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro.

In accordance with the same directive, alternative learning modes shall likewise be implemented for classes at all levels in both public and private schools in the affected areas, unless otherwise directed by their respective Local Chief Executives.

Students, faculty members, personnel, and other concerned stakeholders are advised to remain attentive to official announcements from the University, local government authorities, and other concerned agencies for any further instructions or updates.

In view of the prevailing circumstances, everyone is advised to exercise caution and prioritize their safety and well-being.
