๐๐„๐–๐’ | CGCI SHS Student Clinches 2nd Place in PSA Poster-Making Tilt in PSA Nueva Ecija

Cabanatuan City โ€” CGCI-senior high school brought pride after securing second place in the poster-making contest of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Nueva Ecija during its Civil Registration Month celebration on Thursday, February 20.

John Irish Palma bested several contenders from across the province to emerge as 2nd Place winner in the competition held at the Philippine Statistics Authority Nueva Ecija office at the Harizon Building in Cabanatuan City.

The contest forms part of the agencyโ€™s month-long observance anchored on the theme, โ€œNavigating the Future Together: Advancing CRVS in Shaping the Global and Regional Data Ecosystem,โ€ which underscores the importance of strengthening Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) systems in the country.

According to organizers, the activity aims to raise awareness among the youth about the vital role of civil registration in nation-building โ€” from birth and marriage record.

Palma competed against nine other delegates from various schools in Nueva Ecija, vying for a spot in the top three.

His entry stood out for its creativity and strong interpretation of the theme, earning him a podium finish.

Meanwhile, another CGCI senior high school student, Cane Algray Dionisio, represented the school in the essay writing contest but did not make it to the top three. The champion in the essay category was awarded to a student from the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) Laboratory High School.

The PSAโ€™s Civil Registration Month celebration is observed every February pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 682, highlighting the significance of registering vital events as a fundamental right of every Filipino.
