Amidst the scorching heat of both the morning sun and the match, the Mighty Griffins of the College of Engineering and Computational Sciences (CECS) emerged as the Womenโ€™s Volleyball champions today, September 26, defeating the Blue Marlins of the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM) in the decider game, 25-17, to close out the championship series that stretched across two days.

In the first meeting, the Griffins narrowly escaped Set 1, 27-25, only for the Marlins to answer right back with a commanding 25-17 win in Set 2. But the tide turned in the Griffinsโ€™ favor from there, taking Set 3, 25-16, and closing out the match, 25-22, to win the first game, scoring 3-1.

Given one more shot under the tournamentโ€™s twice-to-beat format, the Blue Marlins opened the Game 2 strong, dominating Set 1 with 25-14. But the Griffins refused to fold, storming back to win the second set, 25-27, once again forcing a decider match.

Ruth V. Felecierta and John Hernan I. Palacio secured ๐Ÿ๐ง๐ ๐‘๐ฎ๐ง๐ง๐ž๐ซ-๐”๐ฉ in the Latin category, while Chloe Gabrielle L. Rada and Kenjie P. Brutas earned ๐Ÿ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐‘๐ฎ๐ง๐ง๐ž๐ซ-๐”๐ฉ in the Standard category.
