34th National Family Week - Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day 💙 ❤️

Ngayong Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day, let’s celebrate the different ways families connect.

For some families, it may be through a shared meal around the table. 🍽️
For others, it may be through a quick conversation before work or school, a phone call from afar, preparing food for one another, helping with homework, or simply being there when someone needs support.

We may not always share a meal at the same table, but there are many ways to stay connected, through a conversation, a phone call, a little extra time together, or simply being there for one another.

At Pisara Learning Center, we believe that a child’s growth happens not only in the classroom, but also through the love and relationships they experience at home.

Where there is love, there is family.

What began as a way to support her own education became the start of something much bigger. 💙

While still in high school, Mikaela Dolores, or Teacher Mikay, as we lovingly call her, started tutoring children in her neighborhood. Along the way, she discovered a genuine passion for teaching.

Today, Teacher Mikay is an Assistant Academic Tutor at Pisara Learning Center while pursuing her Bachelor of Secondary Education, Major in English.

Her journey is a beautiful reminder that education can shape not only students, but also the educators who inspire them.

We’re proud to be part of her journey and excited to see the young lives she will continue to inspire.

Teachers don't just teach lessons. Sometimes, they're also the entertainer, problem solver, cheerleader, and the person willing to do the unexpected just to make their students smile. 💙

Sometimes, the right environment can make all the difference.

When this Pisara Learner first joined us, school came with challenges, from connecting with others to feeling discouraged by mistakes.

But with patience, understanding, and the right support, we began to see something beautiful: confidence.

He became more engaged, more comfortable communicating with teachers and classmates, and more resilient when faced with mistakes and corrections.

His journey reminds us that children don't need to fit one mold to thrive. Sometimes, they simply need a space where they feel understood, supported, and believed in.

Sometimes the problem isn't the lesson. It's the instruction.

A child may know how to add, read, or write correctly but still lose points because they missed one important word:

Circle. Underline. Compare. Explain. Choose TWO.

Understanding directions is a learning skill on its own.

Before your child starts an activity, encourage them to:
✅ Read the entire instruction first
✅ Look for important words
✅ Repeat the direction in their own words
✅ Check their work against the instruction before submitting

This simple habit can help children become more careful and independent when completing schoolwork.

At Pisara Learning Center, we don't only focus on finding the correct answer. We also help students understand what a question is asking them to do.

Sometimes, better performance starts with reading the instructions twice. 💙

Thank you to the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) for sharing this inspiring story.

You see sometimes, determination doesn't make a lot of noise. It simply shows up. 💙

Meet John Michael Andres, an incoming Grade 7 student from Cagayan.

During Brigada Eskwela 2026, while volunteers arrived with brooms, paintbrushes, and cleaning materials, John Michael brought something unexpected: his family's carabao.

Why?

He wanted to help prepare his school's planting area. 🌱

John Michael comes from a farming family and understands at a young age that education, responsibility, and helping others can go hand in hand. His simple act of bringing what he had and using it to help his school became an inspiring example of initiative and determination.

His story reminds our young learners that making a difference doesn't always require having a lot.

Sometimes, it starts with simply asking:

"What can I do to help?"

At Pisara Learning Center, we hope our students grow not only in knowledge, but also in kindness, responsibility, perseverance, and the courage to contribute wherever they can.

💙 You don't have to be extraordinary to make a difference. Start with what you have and give your best.

Every child’s progress deserves to be celebrated. 💙

When Jared first joined Pisara Learning Center for our summer classes in April 2026, he was still working on foundational skills like letter recognition, number writing, and forming the letters of his own name.

With patience, practice, and consistent support, Jared has made incredible progress. Today, he can confidently write his name, identify letters and their sounds, count with ease, read multisyllabic words, and comprehend short stories.

And one milestone we’re especially proud of? Jared earned perfect marks in all subjects during his first major exam as a Kinder 2 student! 🎉

His journey is a beautiful reminder that with the right support and environment, children can grow beyond what they thought they could do.

We’re so proud of you, Jared! Keep learning, growing, and shining.

Children don’t always learn because someone gives them the right answer.

Sometimes, they learn because someone gives them the space to think.

To wonder. To make a guess. To be wrong and try again.

A simple “Why do you think that?” can open the door to a much bigger conversation.

And a “What do you think will happen?” can turn an ordinary moment into an opportunity to explore.

These little moments matter.

Because learning is not only about knowing the answer. It’s also about learning how to ask questions, make connections, solve problems, and think independently.

Here at Pisara, we want children to experience learning as something they can actively take part in not something they simply receive.

We want them to be curious. To be brave enough to say, “I don’t know yet.”

And to know that figuring things out is part of learning, too. Because sometimes, the most meaningful learning happens in the space between a question and an answer. 💙
