𝐎𝐌𝐒𝐂 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 𝐔𝐈 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬
Occidental Mindoro State College (OMSC) continues to make its mark in global sustainability efforts after improving its standing in the 2025 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings. From last year’s 1378th position, OMSC has climbed to 1365th place among 1,745 universities worldwide, reflecting the institution’s strengthened commitment to sustainable campus development.
Nationally, OMSC now ranks 77th among participating Philippine higher education institutions, a notable achievement for its second year of participation in the international sustainability assessment.
According to the 2025 results, OMSC garnered a total score of 3,665 points, with category scores as follows:
Setting & Infrastructure (SI): 580
Energy & Climate Change (EC): 450
Waste (WS): 550
Water (WR): 107.5
Transportation (TR): 925
Education & Research (ED): 1052.5
These scores highlight OMSC’s initiatives in developing greener infrastructure, advancing eco-friendly practices, improving waste management systems, and enhancing sustainability-oriented programs for students and stakeholders.
OMSC’s continued progress underscores its growing role as a sustainability-driven institution, with ambitions to further elevate its standing in future GreenMetric cycles.
