"Ang bata nga may nabasahan, may masanag nga buwas-damlag"--
Today we celebrate the powerful role stories play in inspiring young minds, building empathy, preserving our rich culture and heritage.
Books gives our kids wings to explore new world, dream big, and embrace values that stay with them for life. Whether it's classic Filipino fokltales like ang Pag-aaway ng Pagong at Matsing or vibrant local stories written in Kinaray-a, every story opens a doorway to wonder.
Happy 43rd National Children's Book Day from the Antique Provincial Library and Local Archives!

BRINGING STORIES AND SMILES TO IPs in BARANGAY IGCALAWAGAN!
The Antique Provincial Library and Local Archives recently took a trip to Barangay Igcalawagan, Tobias Fornier (Dao) for a heart-warming community outreach activity dedicated to our beloved Indigenous People (IP).
The core mission of our visit was to follow up on our "Istoryahi ko Nay" program. We wanted to see firsthand how our amazing mothers are implementing these storytelling sessions. We also give storytelling sessions to the children.
It wasn’t just about stories—it was a full day of care! Thanks to our generous partners, we were able to host a feeding program and a gift-giving activity that brought massive smiles to the kids and families in the community.
We are deeply honored by the presence and unwavering support of our provincial leaders who joined us:
* Vice Governor Genevive Lim-Reyes
* SP Gaseva "Baby Gas" Recopuerto
A heartfelt thank you to Punong Barangay Ronie S. Noble and his active Barangay Kagawads esp. to Kagawad Jocelyn Noble, OIC Barangay Captain, for their incredible assistance, hospitality, and coordination in making this event a success. We couldn't have done it without you!

Sharing the Joy of Play and Reading
Growing up around the library as she is the daughter of our Librarian, Miley knows exactly how much magic a good book and a fun toy can bring. Because of her generosity, the library's children's corner just got a lot more exciting!
"Why keep it to yourself when you can share it and make other kids happy?"
Miley decided to pack up her own beloved toys and books and donate them directly to the library! Instead of just keeping them tucked away at home, she wanted to share her favorite things so that other children in the community could enjoy them just as much as she did.
Thank you, Miley Jadah, for being such an inspiring role model for kids and adults alike! Your generous heart is going to bring so many smiles to the children who visit us.
